dude raps off beat ALOT... auto cross out

I'm sorry but Talib has no place on any GOAT list of mine, and I'd probably give Train of Thought and Blackstar 5/5

What does highschool have to do with it? If you have terrible taste, you have terrible taste. You don't become classy, fine and intellectual upongraduation.

idk if this was directed at my "teen" comment, but I do agree that "terrible taste" is just that, regardless of age, ethnicityor whatever...
the only problem is, that taste is subjective.

I do believe though that highschool taste will be different as you get older....
it might not right after graduation...but as you get older, you do become more "intellectual"....
your musical influences, likes/dislikes, appreciation/lack thereof, does dramatically change....

I don't see too many 40 yr olds doing the Robocop (although running man and cabbage patch are ones they try hard to do and FAIL)

I think the highschool mentality is very naive (for generalization purposes).....

also, I just dont think that many highschoolers have had enough experience in life, music, social communication, etc.... to be making blanket statements abouthow right they are and everyone else is wrong....their thinking will change over time, beleebdat.

KRS-One is wack!

Wayne is arguable top 10 because of his stature in his game and he's only 27. One classic (Carter II), two solid albums (Carter 1,3) and classic verses onThe Dedication/Drought series.

His work ethic is on par to 2pac....Lyricism is sometimes dope and could be Jay status.

Rakim, Chuck D, LL..You COULD argue that Wayne has accomplished just as much as them in his time.

Again though....GOAT status is a joke.

You really gonna act like he did nothing before Carter I?

nothing to note of...i see hot boyz+squad as a progression..a significant progression too....but when comparing his greatest work against current vetsyou'd have to look at his current frame.

So your actually saying his work ethic isn't on par wit pac? It might be above to be honest

no he is not.... he dont write his own lyrics, therefore he is not the greatest rapper of all time.. A freshman is writing his lyrics, shamefull

I'm saying that every part of the reply that is in bold, is wrong.

It's really not that hard to comprehend.

Wayne has NO lyrical substance.... Chuck D has arguably the most lyrical substance we will ever see. Rakim is the reason why rappers rap the way they do today. And LL stayed relevant in the game for 17 years. Wayne is simply known for his elementary punchlines and his potent delivery and he is over saturating themarket the way 50 did in 2005, as soon as the next big thing pops up, wayne will fade into the background just like 50 has.

For dudes to even be arguing over Wayne being top 5 yall are insane....dude wouldnt even be top 20 in my book

Em
Jay
BIG
Pac
Budden

My top 5 DOA ( no order)

KRS-One changes his greatest rapper of all-time every day.

I could've swore he said it was Jay-Z the other day.

The funny thing is Wayne's probably more deserving of that recognition than Budden.

I didn't think when I came in before this thread had more than 5 posts played up to KRS giving Wayne a pound and clicked out the thread it'd turn in tothis.

And in all seriousness, you'd have to walk into a hardcore, digging-in-the-crates for some old Das EFX records kind of stores to hear any discussion ofBudden being in the upper echelon of anything related to the current (if not more lucrative) state of hip-hop. Dude puts his all into his work, he's notexactly what I (or really many people that I know) would consider top ten, let alone top five material. You might be able to argue that he's not even thebest in Slaughterhouse...
