My friend just texted me saying he saw John Ireland at the teams hotel in NO and said that John and Mitch were talking trades. One of their targets going into the deadline was trading Lou for Asik and NO 1st round pick??? What do you guys think

Tarik can probably be retained for around 6-8, if not cheaper that'd be the best option for a backup big. Whiteside and Horford are the big prizes though.

Yeah he's become extinct in the same way Hibbett had.. He also has a contract, you won't be able to get out of.
He also doesn't add anything as a teammate or locker room presence that would justify paying him.
Whiteside also isn't restricted. And is a very big possibility, probably the most likely.
But on the other hand, Whiteside without bringing in veteran talent as well could be asking for it to blow up in your face.

I'd do it. Asik is a major upgrade over Hibbert and is really a bargain at this point... He'd be a solid backup.
New Orleans pick will also be a top 5-10 pick as well, so I'd do it in a heartbeat... I don't see them pulling that trade though unless we take Tyreke as well
