I even think 21 is too old, some ppl just cant handle their liquor. 18 is too young, go to Canada if you want to drink legally.

Because alcohol isnt already in high schools.

But once you allow it for 18 year olds, then they can come drunk to dances and such. Not that it doesn't happen, but it's not like people are condoning it.

Just because alcohol would technically be legal for some high schoolers, but they most certainly would not be allowed to come to dances drunk.  Come on fam.

So you are saying because it would be legal for some high schoolers to buy alcohol, yet those same high schoolers wouldnt be allowed to come to dances drunk, that is why 18 isnt a good age?
For the record, I am not saying I necessarily think the drinking age should be dropped to 18, I just dont really follow your argument as to why it shouldnt be 18.

lol yeah I see what you're saying. I was just using that as an example, probably wasn't the best. I think it would be cool if we could enforce drinking under 21 to college students. Like if you were caught drinking underage and could prove you were a college student, then it would be legal. Maybe an incentive (probably not the best one) for people to go to college. Obviously not very realistic, but cool to think about.

I say 18... Look @ America vs Europe... 18 to 21 year olds on both sides can get it regardless... But Americans in that age group abuse it more because its rare and/or illegal... by the time Both age brackets are 21, Europeans know how to handle their liquor, while Americans have been accustomed to binge drinking growing up, or they start drinking at age 21 and have no idea how to handle it..

The reason why America put the drinking drinking age @21, (according to Dr Drew {addiction medicine specialist}) is because our brains dont fully develope until that age... if you start drinking @ a younger age your brain doesnt meet its full potential in growth... So in that sense I fully agree why we put it at that age but it just doesnt work out in our society... Unless you can get the youth to avoid drinking untill theyre 21 and make them to learn to drink responsibly after that age (which would be impossible), the best option for everyone would be to lower the drinking age to 18

Yeah, I think hard liqour shouldn't be sold before 18.

If it happened (doubtful it ever will) there would probably be a sharp spike in alcohol-related deaths for several years followed by a long-term gradual decrease to levels notably lower than before.
