^ Yes, they are (...and yes, they are). He's been wearing those sigs since last year... they have a black upper with red accents, a lace covering withsome Japanese embroidery, and an "18" embroidered on the back. They also have a strap that you never get to see because of his pants... here's apic of one of them:

That's just a pitcher's toe on the front... not an actual part of the shoe. And he's worn them with basically every possible midsole... he had the5-Tool Zoom heel last year, the pictured model has the Huarache midsole, and he's been wearing a Shox Fuse midsole/outsole in games this spring.

They've never been available for purchase (at least as far as I know)... the pictured model was from a Boston Museum of Fine Arts exhibit.

If I'm not mistaken, Hattrick has a pair from lastseason.

Looks like Russ will continue to wear his Clippers, his Huaraches are

, always see them in his locker, but it feels awkward as hell to ask for another mans shoes. Although, he is into sneakers:

Dark Royal/Grey Huarache 2k4's, it helps that it is one of mayfavorite sneakers before it was made into a cleat.

The Japanese on the shoe reads as "Daisuke"

^ What are you talking about? Have you even worn a pair of RINGORS before? I had a pair quite a few years back and really liked them. They don't have thestyle and 'sexiness' that Nike and some other companies might have, but they're good. Plus, who knows, he might even be getting an endorsement dealfrom them.

I busted my Mizuno last week. In search of a fresh pair I went and tried on just about everything cleat in Sports Authority. Gotta say, I really like the fitand lock down of the Pujols 5-Tool.

When I was in college alot of other schools were using Ringor cause Ringor was offering incredible deals to schools to wear their stuff. Well they wereabsolutely hideous and alot of guys I knew on other teams who wore them said they were the worst cleat theyd ever worn. I heard they were uncomfortable, notdurable. A few pitchers said they started ripping after just a couple uses.

Luis Rivas Huarache 2K5 BB, with cleat plates
With all of the PE's out there now, these look really Bush League.

When I was in middle school, Champion sweatshirts were the big fad, along with Skidz pants. I'll never forget when Trevor Post came to school with a rattyold sweatshirt with an attempted Champion logo sewed half-assed on his chest. The fact that I'm bringing it up 20 years later speaks to how ghetto a moveit was.

Another memory that this conjures: Sarunas Marciulionis, the great Lithuanian hoops star when playing with the Warriors, once wore a pair of shoes that lookedas if he had mowed the lawn a few times in. That kind of dereliction of detail really bothers me.

Nonetheless, Rivas could and should do better. You're in "The Show" kid, DRESS THE PART!

^ If he wore his pants down low, they might look at least half-decent. But going high like that, combined with a jersey two sizes two big, combined withbasketball kicks... he looks like a grade schooler.

Poor Bucco's...

With the eye for detail that you exhibited in the critique of that pic...you seem as if you would love UniWatch.
There is however one member of thePirates who does not look as if he belongs on my daughter's T-Ball team:

Wow, either I got lucky or they got really bad pairs.

Good toknow though. What schools used Ringor? I saw a team last year and I forgot who it was. I see some teams being sponsored by New Balance as well.

As fas as Luis Rivas goes, I don't see a problem with it. I think it looks a little bit sloppy, but it's more so about the comfort. Some (not all)of these guys got basketball shoes converted into cleats b/c they like the feel of that specific shoe. I can't be mad at that. It doesn't always lookgreat, but if I had to grind out a MLB season, I would sacrifice style for comfort.

I'm lovin Rajai's style! My personal favorite is Anthony Reyes. Illest socks in the game!

This is a great post. This spring training has been insane with the cleats. Nike has stepped up there game with colorways. The 5tool is probably one of thebest cleats that has come out in while. Easton has also stepped there game up with alot of offseason singnings and colorways. Also one thing that has caught myeye since last season is JRolls glove. Damn one of the best in the league. Not a tradition glove in regards to model and color but damn the contrast of coloris great. Check it out.

As you can tell by the laces and the colors JRoll has had two gloves

It seems like a custom strobe glove. I would love to get my hands on one.

I know how you feel. I just can't break my partnership with Mizuno for some reason. I'm diggin' J-Roll's glove more than his cleats. Andthose shades are hella clean also.
