only thing i can think of is the MOAB kill landed on the same kill as one of Att Chopper or AH-6 kills
and they gave me the air support instead of the MOAB

the unlock gear should be unlock class IMO. Instead of keeping a gun unlocked through each prestige, you should be able to unlock a class and keep the stats.
