http://www.snopes.com/language/phrases/blessyou.asp- Why does anyone say "bless you" when you sneeze?
https://www.google.com/#q=origin+of+kissing+on+the+cheek- Why do people give each other a kiss on the cheek which if you really looked at the motion is just a kiss in the air?
There's reason behind most things.
No they're not. There are specific reasons behind why something become social norms. It doesn't just pop in to existence where an entire society agrees to do it. It literally becomes something popular to do among the rich and then it trickles on down in this situation.Something's are just social norms...
In some societies.tipping is one of them.
Norms don't force you to do anything. You're just expected to do them. People usually don't question what they're expected to do if they start off doing them regularly. If you want to question norms that force you to tip, I hope you also question the ones that don't take money out your pockets.
If strippers are getting a hourly wage for their jobs then they shouldn't get tipped for standing on stage and taking off their clothes. However, if you want special attention, you want a private lap dance, you want to see her bring out extra tricks and acrobatic moves, if you want to go in to the champagne room then you will have to pay for those extra services. They're called tips but in a strip club you're paying for what you want.By a lot of your logic, strippers shouldn't get tips either because they are just there to do a job.
You can't compare stripping to these other jobs where ppl expect to be tipped because the quality of their service is what should remain consistent for them to do their jobs. If everybody followed suit you'd have nurses and doctors, lawyers, etc. not doing their best cuz they know they're not going to get an extra tip from a customer/client.
They definitely should. Probably would be a whole lot more escorts and prostitutes in the game. And if they don't like how much they make they should just find another job.
Just because something is the norm doesn't mean you have to do it. Tipping is not an entitlement. Nobody deserves to be tipped. It's solely up to the customer.Nobody is forcing anyone to tip. However, nobody is forced to put themselves in situations where tipping is the norm.
Don't want to tip?
Stay home and eat grilled cheese with kool aid.

The worst that should happen to the common person if they return to an establishment where they didn't tip is the servers don't do their jobs as they're suppose to. Then there's also the scumbags who might do something to your food. For rich ppl, we get **** like this, where they're publicly ridiculed.
