I took a sick day to secure my pair, I did not feel bad one bit seeing as how I have not called out in a year. It sucks to because actually I wanted to come to work right after, but we had a 8am meeting, I and would have needed to miss the meeting to get the shoes. I still was able to work my regular shift which started at 11:30. But their thing was, you can't miss the meeting, if you are going to miss that, just take the day. Fine by me.
Anyway, I showed up to NT at The Grove at about 9:15 this morning, was number 12 in line. I held a spot for my homegirl and then the next thing we know people started showing up the quicks. I already knew how many pairs the store had, so I was never worried plus a lot of stuff was dropping today and based on the people I could kinda piece together what they were there for. At 10 they escorted us all in the store in a single file line, most people were getting the 12's and a couple people got safaris. As far as sizing goes.... I went with the SMALL after all, that XS was too short but mainly too narrow. My homegirl convinced me that a little more room is better than not enough. Plus my right foot looked like a balled up fist in that small low key. lol
I have a good friend who works at Campus in Portland, who missed her pair. She basically drove by NTP, and saw 50 people out front so she kept driving. I let her know she still should have stopped in, but by that time it was too late. She was back at home already. So on my way home from The Grove, I decided to enter the draw on her behalf. I pulled over to the side of the road, entered for her and continued on my way to go get breakfast. They just hit me to let me know I won, and my order has been processed. Luckily I won it, because the same time I got that confirmation, she got hers saying she did not win. The sneaker gods were on our side this morning!
