Currently the most popular arcade game in Japan, as well as Hong Kong.

I knew you'd post that

. Currently waiting for DX to come here to the states. ATL ftl, only MT2 machines and very far away from where Icurrently am. As for teaching English, this site may be helpful: http://www.jetprogramme.org/http://www.jetprogramme.org/ . Good luck. I've taken 5 years of Japanese andI've forgotten at least 2-3 years worth. You'll need to practice everyday in order not to forget.

There are programs where you start off as a TA (Teaching Assistant) and don't need any knowledge of Japanese. I'm saying it'spossible, being a straight-up teacher though, yeah you need to know some. Think outside the box people...

Lol, I guess. But even if you're gonna try teaching English there, you're still gonna needa learn Japanese. You gotta ask for directions cuz youobviously don't know the place, read signs, and communicate with the people at the airport when you decide you wanna come back cuz you don't knowJapanese.

you're gonna have to put in some SERIOUS work to brush up on your speaking/writing skills in a year. Furthermore, you're definitely gonnaneed to establish a connect or have a resume worth something over seas. It's definitely possible to live there, but it's gonna take a lot of luck andfaith as well.

I'm only in Atlanta for school. back home in NY, the only location in the entire city is a 20 minutebus ride from my house, so not too bad.Back there I play 3, though very little (best car is B6 rank, the C1 LOL). Here in GA, hell I haven't even been to the locations here yet. I only know ofone which is an hour away by car, and another even further

. Not worth the effort.

Would an AA be worth anything? I am going to school at le cordon bleu.

Haha, one year is NOT enough to learn what's required to be able to survive in Japan. You need at least 3 years.

OP,

You need to do A LOT of research.

I may also move to Japan for 1-2 years in the next couple of years to teach English, but I've been taking Japanese lessons for 6 months, have already beento Japan and have Japanese friends (originally from Japan) that are often able to give me advice.

1. You need to start taking Japanese lessons NOW. Japanese is a hard language to learn, especially the written aspect (you have to learn katakana, hiragana andkanji in order to be able to write properly) although it is not as hard to learn as Mandarin since Mandarin is tonal and has thousands of characters.

2. You should google services that place people in Japan to teach English. Luckily, you don't need an English degree or have be able to speak Japanese inorder to teach. Also, everyone I've talked to that has done this (at least 5 people) has had a wonderful experience. Pay is relatively good, hours areshort and you are treated very well. More than likely, however, you will NOT be place in Tokyo. You'll probably teach in a place such as Osaka.

3. If you are somehow placed in Tokyo, check out Sakura House for housing. They offer very inexpensive, although often small apartments.

4. I would attempt to take a trip (at least a few weeks long) to Japan to see if you even like it first.

Oh I know. I wouldn't move to Italy if I didn't know Italian, I wouldn't move to the U.S. if i didn't learn English... but...it's not my decision.

you dont need to learn too much japanese to teach, live, or survive in japan

that racing game is no where near being the most popular arcade game in japan
