I think people tried to make it a thing because Steph picks up injuries and had questionable post-season games the year before and the years after KD joined. So it was proposed that KD would act as the bandage over these wounds that the Warriors had.

Do they need KD to win a championship? No.

Do they need KD to guarantee that things that can go wrong can be minimised drastically? Yes.

And then you get a night like last night, which to be fair, may have never even happened had that KD injury happened any earlier.

All I'm saying, is that Harden has been historically good for years now.

When you have that kind of talent, you want to maximize it, and you don't get to pick and choose which costars become available. It just so happens that as Harden was peaking, CP3 became available and the Rockets have been very good since signing him.

The deal is bad, but you're going to have some bad deals when you're chasing the warriors.

People are gonna point to the stat sheet and say harden had a good game for years to come. I actually gained 0.1% respect for cp. He was flopping his *** off but for the most part he wasn't *****ing to the refs. He tried not to ***** at them last game but it looked awkward and uncomfortable . And he was hooping. Except for the most crucial moments of course

Harden's threes definitely play a big role in that higher TS%...especially since MJ and Wade were never launching up a ton and today's era is all about the three ball.
