Floor spacing doesnt matter? You haven’t mentioned that the driving lanes will inevitably be better once you have more players to guard past the paint.

Obviously spacing matters, you act like we don’t want more shooting around Ben and Embiid. But that’s why you go out and get JJ, Tobias and Jimmy...instead of trading your elite players you drafted yourself.

Been watching basketball for a long time now and I can tell you, there is a certain type of player or coach or fan or even upper management...that when they portrait themselves as either petty, cocky, front running, big time whiners or fake tough guy esque- they NEVER WIN. I’m not talking Kobe Bryant level cocky where it’s quiet and calculated and confident. I’m talking doing a rock the baby to the opponent when you score

Harden (vouching for himself as mvp repeatedly...ties in with cp3)
Cp3 (master whiner, fake tough guy, if asked will probably tell u they will beat GSW in 4)
Morey (we’re built to beat the warriors)
Magic Johnson this year (see morey)
Masai (remember: F Brooklyn)
Westbrook (rocking baby to opponents face)
LeBron and wade their first year, before they got more vets in the team and toned it down
Kings of early 2000s. (Cocky as hell, fans trying to poison players lol)
Soon to be added: Embiid and simmons.

Anytime players or coaches or management brings that kind of attention to themselves and don’t operate surgically with focus on the game itself, it just never works out. Blazers are prime example. No showboating last game vs what Thunder were doing game 3.

Warriors, lakers, spurs... and many champs before weren’t doing these kind of things. They were laser focused on winning and not mvps and side beefs and taunting players etc

LeBron, Kobe, Draymond and Shaq have been in like every Finals over the last 20 years. Without KG and Pierce **** talking the way they did the Celtics probably wouldn’t have been winners. MJ would talk trash at all times on the court.

If anything, you NEED that type of edge on your roster in order to be a legit contender.

Meh. Just speaking in counterpoint to the the Snyder slander and "not producing." Donovan is a far bigger candidate in that regard. If OKC gets bounced in the first round again this year (extremely likely), they're gonna need to make some interesting decisions this off-season. Maybe they add some more complementary pieces, like actual shooters, because Russ isn't going to be traded. They'll have to build around his deficiencies, and then if there's no results then, Donovan's outta there.

The problem with just adding complimentary pieces is Russ still has to allow them to do things when it matters...cant bring in all the shooters but wont make a difference if Westbrook taking and bricking the majority of shots in important games

If OKC wants to win in the playoffs they to move forward with the thinking that Russ aint the franchise guy on a contender...until he drops down to your 2nd or 3rd best/important player no coaching or personnel changes gon make a difference..The OG OKC squad they had was the perfect situation for him but we all know how that got fumbled
