It's gonna be fun watching Memphis this season. I hope OJ's development doesn't get ******ed.

Then decide, let's work out Troy FRICKING HUDSON?!

I'm ready for the season to start.

just saying, the dude has been on a team with a record above .500 like once in his career. Its not like he is exactly the first guy in the league I would want around a young team
i knowwwwww, i knowww.

we had a discussion on this for like 2-3 pages a while back. people will think what they want to think about the situation. if you look at one way, try to lookat it from both sides and come to a reasonable point. don't think its an automatic failure. he was brought in to do two things only. score in the paint andrebound. yes, there's a good chance he can hurt the team with his play, but there is also a good chance of the team improving with or without him due tothe development of 4 of their young players.

there are several points that could go both ways with his situation since he's been in the league, so i'll leave it at that.

So, they not going after Sessions anymore?

Edit: nvm got this from the knicks thread

On Thursday morning, point guard Troy Hudson will work out for the New York Knicks. Last week, Hudson held a work out in Las Vegas for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Memphis Grizzlies, Philadelphia 76ers, and Detroit Pistons. New York was pursuing free agent Ramon Sessions, but sources tell RealGM's Alex Kennedy that talks have broken down because the Knicks will not offer anything more than a one year contract. Hudson has averaged 9.0 points and 3.4 over the course of his eleven-year career.

again, it'd be time to worry if they did offer sessions a 5 year deal

no offer = confidence for 2010 remains.

i can wait 1 more year.

and teams workout bums all the time. hudson wont be signed.

But why not offer Sessions MORE than a one-stinking-year deal?

Is he not capable of being the PG of the "Future," when they make their big FA signing next year?

Is less than the full MLE too expensive?

I just don't see the plan.. And if you know, please enlighten.

the 'plan' has not changed since walsh took the job and outlined it.

less than full mle most likely gets matched or he can find a better offer.

when eddy curry gets dealt in december walsh will be hailed as a genius again.

and if im sessions, i take 1 year, show out under d'antoni and really cash in next summer.

Honestly, I don't see any team taking on Curry's deal.

Why would any team do that? Considering it runs another year after this year.

If Walsh can get it done though..

The plan is merely to have every single dollar available for Bron, and on top of that, I imagine they tell Bron he will have full say in who he wants them tobring in. What if Bron didn't like Sessions or something along those lines?

They want to lure Bron with every angle they can find. Thas the plan.

I'm selfish, I simply want the Curry deal to happen just to see Bron fans GRIP for months when it does.

They gon be twisting in the wind like nobodies business. Gonna be awesome.

come on now who is taken curry? he will have to play out of his mind for a team to take that contract

if the guy gets down to 300, which reports are he will...he's getting dealt. eddy always has been able to score the ball, it'll intrigue someoneenough. 2 years is not that much to endure.

who thought zbo was getting moved?

..and i'd welcome sessions, he's decent an would help...but at 5 years/35 million? for a pg who can't shoot? no, no thanks

What we need is a Cavs rival that sucks. Someone who already has no shot, who can afford to just take Curry for no damn reason so that the Cavs have a shot atlosing Bron.

Anybody got bad blood with the Cavs? What about Indy, do they like Walsh enough to lend him a hand?

Hell, we could throw a "Do it Mitch" if it means it'll help.

I just don't see why in the world Bron would go to NYK when he's going to the only player on the roster.

If they sign him for max, who else they going to get?

Maybe they can get an all-star around him, but then what?

After paying Bron, and a second guy, the rest are going to be near minimum deals.

Eh.

There isn't a single person on the roster who would appeal to LeBron, because there ain't no one staying past this year.

With the cap lowering this year, and probably next too, I just don't like what the Knicks are doing.

Isn't the theory that players want to play with Bron?

Aren't their people who wanna play in the Garden, and have all the media hype them up and be title contenders?

Part of why nobody wants to go to Cleveland right now is he is unsigned. Once he signs long term with a team, players should want to FLOCK there just to win atitle. At least some of those players would take less money for a shot at a ring.

Works other way too. If Bron re-signs, then players will start to head to Cleveland. But where would you rather play, New York, or Cleveland?

but its not like this is Eddie Curry a few years ago when you can get away with saying "o he is losing weight and can score" he isalways hurt, cant play D and cant stay in shape. ant nobody going to pay him 21 million for 2 years. maybe if they give the knicks a horrible contract back butthats about it

and who figure there was a team dumb enough like memphis to take zbo?

1 year will be left on it for 11 million....and after this year, obviously it turns into an expiring contract.

if he's healthy, he'll be dealt. it's a huge if, though. all it takes is 1 team.

he's lazy and doesn't defend or rebound...but he's always been able to score with his back to the basket...and face it, that is a unique talentin the nba right now.

supporting casts, what young core is in cleveland for the future?

and at worst, we'll come away with bosh or amare, joe johnson etc. or target 2011

i can live with that.

i dont think walsh is blindly praying for lebron to come.

Lebron wants to win now, and he's closer to that with Cleveland's current roster than whatever NY would be able to assemble by next year(barring a miracle)

The only players who are old on the Cavs rosters are their centers (Z and Shaq)...seems like they're going to be able to slide AV to the center positionand maybe JJ will be ready to take over at the 4

Eh, I don't know about that. Getting Bosh, or Amare, or Joe J won't mean @#$%, they still won't be any good or matter.

New York is trying to win the powerball, not a 100 dollar ticket prize.

It's Bron or nothing.

lebron's gona win with av and jj hickson up front with delonte and mo in the back court?

they've put all their chips in for this season. whats left in 2010-2011 and into the future? they're gona be faced with the sameproblems the knicks are supposed to have in building a winner around him.

roll.gif
AV and Hickson as the starting front court on a title team. Bron isgreat, but he ain't no miracle worker.

Because paying a guy 11 or 12 mil for only two years due to 30% of his contract being deferred and him being more productive than any other PF theycould've brought in, along with them having a ton of assets and money to make a splash in the 2011 off-season.
wink.gif

I do think this 2010 talk is overrated. What if the Knicks don't end up with Lebron and end up with somebody like Stoudemire? He's not who you wantto build your team around. Even if Stoudemire has another season where he gets hurt, will NY want to invest that much of a future into him? I've beensaying for the longest that you don't build teams through free agency. You add missing pieces that can put your team over the top.

If NY can develop some of the talent they already have in the right way instead of hoping for a few free agents, then they will be on to something. I stilldon't see why they can't give Sessions at least a 2 or 3 year deal. I'm just waiting on Walsh to do something impressive. I would like for him toprove people wrong with this 2010 free agent thing.
The only players they will have on their roster if they can deal Curry and Jeffries would be Hill, Chandler, Douglas and basically Gallinari. If theyget Lebron, that means Gallinari and Chandler will either have to be playing the two or battling out backing up Lebron unless D'Antoni decides to put oneof them at the 4. They will automatically need a starting PG and C along with a bench. I just want to see how he will build this team in 2010. If he does well, all praise to him.

Exactly.

Bosh would rather go to hometown Dallas then go to New York and have no one to play behind.

Amare isn't going anywhere unless he's traded IMO.

Joe Johnson? That's what that list has come to?

I'm fine with saying players will come to play with Bron, but at what price?

I can guaruntee that if Bron does leave, those New York teams won't be any better than what the Cavs had the past two years as far as wins go. This year aswell, gawk at their roster all you want, they get Ws.
