NBA: Would it be viable for the 1st seed to pick their opponent in the first round of the playoffs?

should've never changed in the first place.  if i recall correctly they changed it midway through the 02-03 season which is kinda odd to make a change like that midway though a season.

aside from that had the first round format never changed, tracy mcgrady wouldn't be a second round virgin and woulda led the 8 seed magic to a huge upset against the 1 seed pistons in 03.

I just hate in MLB how only 8 teams make it. You play that long season, get a winning record, and still don't make the playoffs!

I still like how MLB and NFL have their teams divided up, not by Eastern or Western Conferences.

Wouldn't mind if the NBA moved in that direction.
