Exactly.

But no way I'm missing the NBA playoffs for the Gnats.

Ramon Martinez has back spasms.

Reyes is def gonna still sit out.

beltran may have a day off tomm because of that knee.

Do we have ANYBODY else left?

$%+# it, I'll grab a mitt from Modell's and show up at Citi tomorrow.

I might be able to play 1st.

Gimme any position on the left side of the infield. I've been on fire in my softball league

.

A triple-header on Saturday and a double today...gotta get ready for another double-header tomorrow...and be lazy the entire week.

I think David is going to be the only position player playing tomm, who started on opening day.

The only way that home run gets over-turned is if there is indisputable evidence that the ball would not have hit over the line.

Touch call but the video does not show it clearly.

Even without that home run its a ground rule double, run scores and a man on 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs for David.......so safe to say the score would be the samethe way the inning is playing out so far.

That replay on the Sheff homer took forever though.

It would make a whole lot more sense if when they adopted the replay rule, they insisted that teams place cameras on or near the foul poles... Or cameraspointing along the fences.

Technology is so advanced now that the camera could literally be the size of a pinhole and still be effective.

The problem with that, is that different stadiums have cameras at different points

The way the Citi Field walls are all zig-zagged and un-even, its touch to have cameras along the wall.

Its easier to do that at Fenway.

BTW....Maine should have been allowed to pitch another inning.....BULLPEN OVER-MANAGEMENT AS USUAL.

Word 4 run lead going out there for another inning couldn't have hurt anybody. Nice win last night. Sheff clutch again

Beltran stated that he will continue to play through that bum knee as long as it doesn't get worse, so kudos to him and props for leading this team.

Its crazy to think that if Church goes on the DL (along with reyes, who def should), the lineup would continue to be:

Pagan
Castillo
Beltran
Sheff
Wright
Reed/Murphy
Santos
Ramon

Only 3 of those guys started on Opening Day.

3-4-5 continue to carry this team, but the starting pitching even during the road trip was excellent. Props to the bench guys doing what they can, even theDodgers had to squeak by that sweep (*), the Mets were in every game and should have won that series, but that Church blunder in game 1 set the tone.

I would be open to calling up Fernando Martinez because:

a) He is playing well in AAA, although there is better comp in AA
b) He has power and plays a a corner outfield position
c) He can platoon with Pagan and hit vs righties, might as well let him see whats its like up here for a bit then send him back down when players get healthy.

doubt the game goes on tonight, but here are some roster moves:

- Beltran is out till Fri with a bruised and inflamed knee

- reyes and church to the DL, Mets call up 2 guys including Fernando Martinez

- Fernando will play RF, Pagan in CF, Murphy at 1st

He is not Major League ready IMO but we have no choice at this point (he has been hot this month in the minors). He will wear # 67.

Hope he can provide some sort of spark though, I've always loved the kids level power swing.

Tron sitting really hurts.

Mets trade for Wilson Valdes from the Indians for cash to play SS (good glove, can't hit...basically an upgrade from RamonMartinez)
