Here's the Sunday rubber-game lineup as the Mets welcome back Ryan Church while trying to avoid becoming the first team since the Diamondbacks (May 8-10) to lose a series to the Nationals:
Cora, 2b
Martinez, lf
Beltran, cf
Wright, 3b
Murphy, 1b
Church, rf
Schneider, c
Valdez, ss
Hernandez, rhp

,.....and apparently Maine had a tight shoulder, hope he is at least ok.

It was nice to see Jenry Meinja promoted from single-A to AA so quickly, he made his 1st start yesterday and pitched well: 7 IP, 0 ER, 5 hits, 3 BB and 5K's

Good Start for the Mets.

Sadly Mez, I wish I could go out with how nice it is but My mom and pops are in florida and I am watching their new terrier puppies.

Freakin little monsters. lol. but they are cool little pups.

Santana on tuesday vs the phils is a must win. Going to that game as well.

Phils looming
June 7, 2009

While the Mets enter Sunday's end to a seemingly navigable stretch against the Nationals, Marlins and Pirates with a 6-5 record, the Phillies and then the Yankees will await in New York, the latter series in the Bronx. Here's a projection of the pitching matchups against Philadelphia, with help from our friends out in L.A. covering the Phils:

Tuesday: Johan Santana (7-3, 2.00) vs. J.A. Happ (4-0, 2.48)
Wednesday: Mike Pelfrey (4-2, 4.85) vs. Cole Hamels (4-2, 4.40)
Thursday: Tim Redding (0-2, 6.97) vs. Jamie Moyer (4-5, 6.27)

Big month upcoming...28 of the next 32 games are against teams with above .500 records.

The Philly series is huge, and the Yankee series will obviously be heated.

I'm waaayyyyyy over the Subway series, the only reason I'm even remotely interested is because of the new stadiums.

This may the year the Yankees finally win the season series since we won't be healthy for a while.

At least Johan will pitch vs the Phils and Mets.

^Feel the same way.

Going tonight so hopefully the weather holds up for the game.

Would be the third time I see Johan this year.

Hope its on and off tonight.

As long as the Mets don't get swept this series I'm fine.

They just have to find a way to win tonight with Santana, and get a W vs the Jonas Brother as they've always done.

Gotta love our manager.

Johan is doing it all even though he's given up some bombs.

Finally home to watch the rest on T.V.
