NEW YORK METS 2016 SEASON THREAD

Don't let anyone fool you, the staff doesn't need to be touched. We have a good farm system, one of the better farms in baseball. We can get impact hitters without trading the core 4.

You mean Nationals? It's no surprise if they acquire Chapman.
:lol yeah he looks like a favorite for the Nats :rollin

I'm aware but you and I are both Knick/Met fans. We've seen some wild ****.

Johnson and Uribe...can't believe this is actually a significant upgrade to our lineup lulz. Does Flores go back to SS? Maybe Murphy can be traded now? o_O

Mattingly and bochy told Fredi Gonzalez to watch Uribe's legs. Sounds like he can't play everyday anymore. But it is only 60 games so who knows. I wouldn't move Flores he's been much better at second.

As I think about this trade I see the benefit provided. And if a slugger like Cespedes can be added, the move will be more valuable than staying put as is. We didn't give up anything two guys whose ceilings are 5th starters or set up men. But the value you get with Uribe and Kelky is playoff experience leadership and depth. On their own they can't do too much to jumpstart the offense but with another move something can get going.

Played softball today. Hit two home runs. Got a big ugly cut on my forearm from sliding (I was called out. BS call :{ ). Mets won.

Feels good man

That Johnson HR was hit in a place I have not seen before. Hope we continue to add pieces with this pitching staff :smokin

Upton, Cespedes, possibly Gomez

Then it's guys like:

Gerardo Parra, Ben Zobrist, Jay Bruce, Marlon Byrd,

Gomez would be priority 1, but Milwaukee is getting a new GM so they might wait before moving him. I really wan't Cespedes since he's the better fielder, but I'd be ecstatic with Upton.

Can totally live with Parra. I like Zobrist but he's not happening. Bruce is too streaky, Byrd could be a cheap move which is ok, but nothing fancy.

I'd only trade Wheeler (with Lagares) for Gomez since Gomez has 1.5 years of team control. I'd make Wheeler available, but I wouldn't trade him for a rental.

Still 3 games out in L column, but cannot look past Padres for the weekend series with the Nats here. Crazy we are 18 games over .500 at Citi, but 15 games under on the road

Meisner is a heavy price for Clippard, but in all both teams win in this deal.

Both trades the past few days have been excellent.

4th starter or set up man upside. Plus fastball, above average curveball that flashes plus. Average changeup and command.

Looks like a fair trade for both teams. Meisner is only 20.

Hows Meisner?

One of the better prospects the Mets, does a lot of solid things but nothing particularly great, average fastball

Happy to have Clippard here even though he was someone who annoyed me, solidifies the 8th and 9th spots.

Mets can be in first place if they have a good week going into August, just a matter if they want to spend on a rental.

I believe this deal is great for both teams. The best part about Meisner is that he's very tall who can throw change-up and curveball well. He relies on his breaking balls the mostly. Just like Clippard, long reliever role suits Meisner the best. He keeps sub 3 era in the minor as far. That's a good sign.
