As we saw in 06, the window COULD be this year (especially considering pitcher injuries). Way different team though, I would say 2017.

they're under team control until 2019 (harvey) and 2022 (thor, matz) degrom in the middle.

having said that, we can't be complacent and think we have all the time in the world. they're healthy now, lets go for it now. they can blow their elbows out again in the next few years. why risk that?

No brainer if you trade Wheeler for Gomez (rumor currently). As much as I like Wheeler, he's had a ton of control issues to start, and puts a tremendous amount of pressure on that elbow with his mechanics and won't even be ready until the middle of next season

Gomez has been a premier player at his position the past few years, you make that move.

If it had to be an arm and this goes through, I'll take it. An everyday solid CF over a starting pitcher especially if you have an embarrassment of young pitching. Disgusting what this has become tonight with Flores considering the deal isn't even done. World of social media for you and the negatives behind it.

Either Alderson or Collins is to blame for not pulling Flores out of the game.

Flores is really a good kid. He has been forced to change his position many times without any complain. Sports can be cruel sometimes. Typical classless Mets front office. Always screw up something that makes people feel sick.

I am going to root for him in Milwaukee.
