New York Yankees Official Thread - RIP Former Manager Petey Rose

There’s spending and then spend responsibly. Now we have MORE money to spread out all over the roster. Need a closer, a 1B, 2B, 3B, RF and another starter. Losing out on him means we can go after multiple top of the market guys now.
I appreciate the optimism but I have no faith in Hal actually doing that

No one has faith in Hal bidding over $700 mil in negotiations for Soto either.
This dude is literally the reason we made it to the World Series….

This isn’t being “over dramatic”…

This is embarrassing bro
Judges best season didn’t happen last year? Most definitely over dramatic.

20 years ago we had double the payroll of most teams, 50% higher than 2nd, now we're 2nd tier behind Dodgers and Mets. George would be disappointed. This isn't how he built the Yankees into an empire.

The problem is who is left to sign and who wants to trade with this team. Willy Adames was the 2nd best player available and he is signed now.

Dominguez gives me signs of being a bust!

We going to roll out the same lineup that hasn’t worked before Soto again. DJ is washed, Cabrera is not consistent, and Ben Rice seems like a bust as well.

Don’t think DJ is even a thought in the starting lineup. Don’t think Rice is getting slotted in to start either. Theirs still Alonso and Walker (can also play 3rd and OF) for 1st. There’s still a trade for Bellinger that could be made, where they’ve been linked/rumored to include Hoerner for 2B as well (that would be a big win). You have Santander and Hernandez available for the OF. Not near Soto’s level but not terrible either. Hell, we saw Hernandez up close in October. There are good SPs and bullpen guys available. Could take all that money for Soto and can spread it out and improve this team.

Soto would have been great to have back, but he didn’t cover up/mask the deficiencies this team showed in October and the middle part of the season.

would like to see the team pick up fried and burnes to solidfy our starting rotation then get alonso after...I'm disappointed with soto leaving but after seeing that contract I'm glad he left...with that amount of money cohen has I doubt he woulda gotten outbid... I just hope Hal actually spends the money this offseason that wasn't spent on soto

Plus he has a ring already. Young generation doesn’t care about legacy
Older generation didn't either lol. It's always been about money and I don't blame them at all. It's a job. Players didn't sign the with Yankees bc they wanted to be Yankees, they signed bc we used to write the biggest checks.

And i swear to god i don't wanna see Judge and everyone who played with Soto acting all friendly before a game laughing and sh*t in the oufield. Be nice to see our captain show some stones and walk by grillin this ***** ...

So ******* salty today ...

This guard needs to be found and tortured in a old bodega basement while cats eat his flesh.

I would seriously f*ck this guy up right now

Starting to get over it now, just gotta deal with the Mut fans.

Don’t care what he’s said. Don’t care one bit.

Trade 7 of the top 15 prospects for Vladdy. And immediately offer him a huge deal.

Yankees have to modernize their approach a bit and let the players have some run of the show. Not the organization doing so. It may mean something to a lifelong fan like Cole. Or a guy who wants simply to be the Captain in Judge. Or a Tri-stater like Volpe/Stroman. But it doesn’t mean anything to anybody else.

Yeah, we’re the Yankees. But you can also be the Yankees with all the history it brings while still taking significant care of your players not just by salary, but by the wellness aspect of life. The Dodgers do this. Cohen is trying to do this and showing that it matters to players as he just got his big fish.

Team needs to be a lot more flare like Jazz and less like it’s a corporate 9-5.

And you can still be the franchise of Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle, Mattingly, Core 4 and Bernie. While also being fun.

Agree, the button'd up approach isn't the move now. Players can get hundreds of millions to be in a corporate setting or hundreds of millions to be in a much more relaxed setting. The old racist hair policy issue is a good example.

Ready for that Kithmas lookbook. I typically treat myself to a few things. Poker set, Jenga set, Yeti, etc. Watch roll caught my eye this year, need to see what else is in there. Hope they put it out asap.

I think I’m one of the few Yankee fans that doesn’t care. Soto is an amazing hitter but there’s red flags. Lack of hustle (which might be even worse now he got his payday) and his defense is ***. I wanted him back but 800+ until he’s 41-42 doesn’t sound good.

I do want to go after Vladdy Jr.

I hate the Astros but I feel like we need a winner. I’d go after Bregman. He’s won a lot and we need that. Soto won but it was years ago and SD fans hate him cause he didn’t act like a winner there.

What exactly is a winner? Would Bregman be a winner if he'd been drafted by the A's?
