I guess it would be a 2 time world series champion no matter how we decide to look at it.

Is that bc of him or bc of who he got drafted by? He's been a good player, don't get me wrong, but they didn't win those titles solely bc of him. I just don't believe in such a thing as a "winner" in team sports. I love Jeter, and he may have still been a HOF'er, but he's not viewed as a "winner" if he played for the Pirates for his entire career.I guess it would be a 2 time world series champion no matter how we decide to look at it.
I don't think that's the message or what he was implying. Believe it was more of a he's been there and done that. He's a proven player. Is that bc of him or bc of who he got drafted by? That's fair. Bringing pieces of a winning culture can help, I just get irked at the "winner" label as if some people are just inherently born with a winning gene and nothing will prevent them from winning.I’m definitely not saying he won those series. I’m saying he’s been a damn good player and on a winning team for almost a decade. Isn’t it like seven or eight straight ALCS for them? I think being around that culture, for that long can play a role.
So you're saying Luigi needs to take out Hal next?Dodgers are Darth Vader. Yankees are a Health Care Company. Who is good at their craft, undeniably, but god they are no fun and make a lot of people think they are a bunch of pricks.

8 years is a panic move. AVV is fine for 4-5 but 8?
The 165-170 innings concerns me. If he gave you 200 at those numbers, ok.Because he's a top 15 starting pitcher in the league, and top 15 starting pitchers don't sign for 4 years unless they are 36 or older.
Since 2021...
Cole is 2nd in WPA. Fried is 4th
And if they decided to go after Burnes too (they should).... They'd have 2,3 & 4
Fangraphs ERA- stat... Max is 3rd behind Woodruff and Ohtani since 2021.
FIP- he's tied with Cole
