New York Yankees Official Thread - vs O’s, 51-24 - Cole back!

Again, a lot of this doesn’t matter because of the lead they built over a ridiculous 55 game stretch.

But the trend of the team over the last month. Is ROUGH.

First 10 games: 5-5 (81 win pace)
Next 53 games: 42-11 (128 win pace)
Since 6/17: 15-12 (90 win pace) (This month: 5-7)

The guys who have been really good over the month:
Carpenter .395/.500/.814 5HR 11RBI 3-2B 6BB/13SO
Gleyber: .326/.400/.506 2HR 11RBI 10-2B 10BB/22SO
DJ .313/.441/.417 3HR 8RBI 22BB/13SO
Rizzo .217/.379/.535 6HR 14RBI 4-2B 16BB/18SO
Hicks .265/.383/.559 4HR 15RBI 4-2B 2-3B 12BB/19SO

Mixed bag, but need better:
Judge has 6HR 17RBIs 4-2B but .190/.277/.410 12BB/34SO

Stanton has 11HR 21RBIs but .181/.260/.532 10BB/30SO
(Hard to argue about what they are doing power-wise and driving in runs, but it stops there offensively over the last month. Judge has been really good out in the field though).

IKF .278/.316/.347 0HR (all season) 5-2B 7-RBIs 2BB/7SO. I can live with what he does offensively if he was the 9 spot, granted 0 Homeruns in Yankee stadium is embarrassing. But while being touted as a defensive player, and then being bottom 5 defensive SS. He stinks.

Guys who have been awful
Gallo 1HR 1-2B 1-3B 2RBIs 15BB/28SO .102/.284/.254 6 Hits in a month
Donaldson 4HR 16RBI 5-2B 6BB/32SO .214/.276/.405 (3HR 9RBIs were in a 3 game stretch.)
Trevino 2HR 9RBI 3-2B 4BB/13SO .191/.246/.333 (Great 2 months to get him in the All Star Game, is a hole again)
Higgy 11G 2HR 5RBI 1BB/10SO .152/.171/.333 (Probably has 1 more random 4HR month in him)

Again, none of this really matters regular season, if they go .500 over the last 72 games, they will finish with 104 wins. The division is locked up, unless they go nuclear level bad, but the regression back to the mean, they are not the favorites anymore.

The 5 or 6 through 9 spot is so unequivocally bad on a daily basis collectively, that it doesn’t matter that the top 4 or 5 in the order are either hitting well or driving in runs.
Almost need to do an entire revamp of the bottom of the order. And I don't think they will, so that may not be promising. At the very least, Gallo should not be out there at all. And I'm fine just letting this go for this series, but he should not play another game here once the break hits. Look for a trade, if you can't find one DFA him. Who cares, put Higgy out in LF, and it's essentially the same result.

Peraza or Cabrera should be brought up. Hell, Nats willing to trade Soto now that he turned down their latest offer.

it has been a rough last 10 games... but honestly I don't care for the best regular season record... just want them to do well in the postseason really

If we somehow get soto that means judge would likely be gone... you have to remember this isn't the boss team anymore and it's their sons running it and they have been very frugal to say the least lol

Cost of Soto gotta include monument park
4 train
Jomboy and Jake
The Ghost of Babe Ruth
And half the minor leagues

And I’ll take it.

he's right there , just teasin ...
