Oh you're still correct! They just renamed the Cosmic Cube to the Tesseract just for the cinematic universe. Personally, I think Cosmic Cube sounds way better hahaha

Just read this. Cleared things up a bit

Well I guess these gems don't have a purpose to them then (soul, power, mind, space etc) since the tesseract can tear a hole through space and control people's minds.

The Orb, Tesseract, and Aether would leave three left since there are 6 total.

But in Avengers they used some pretty confusing wording. After all Loki used the Tesseract to control minds of the professor and Hawkeye even before he got the cube. Which made me think the cube was something else.

The Tesseract and Scepter are two different gems I believe. Tesseract opens space portals and the Scepter controls the mind. It can't be the same thing if Thanos gave/loaned Loki the Scepter and a Chitauri army in exchange for stealing the Teserract.

^Well then that goes back to my original question of who has the cube now? Last we saw it the professor shoved the tesseract into it. And it that scene it sounded like they were one in the same (something along the lines of the cosmic cube can't defend against itself).

Everywhere else I have read the tesseract is the cosmic cube. A few other forums I found had this same question (of why the tesseract and cosmic cube are said to be the same in the movie but Loki is able to power the tesseract without it)

I think the 4th gem will be in age of ultron. the 5th somewhere in phase III and the last one will be in Avengers 3

I think you are confusing the two, the Tesseract is the Cosmic Cube and it is on Asgard.

The Scepter is likely in SHIELD possession as Black Widow was in possession of it last.

Power the tesseract with out what? I am not sure what you mean by powering the tesseract? The teserract is the cosmic cube, it is one in the same. The tesseract itself is a huge source of power/energy as stated in Cap1 movie, HYDRA made weapons out of it so it doesn't need to be powered.

Alright. NVM. I am confusing the tesseract with the scepter. Still tho. I thought the scepter needed to be powered by the teseract. Yet before he got his hands on the tesseract Loki was able to mind control Hawkeye and Proffesor Selvig.

Yet at the end when they needed to close the portal, it sounded to me like he was saying the scepter and the tesseract were one in the same.

If they aren't is the sceptre an infinity gem?

Nah, Scepter has it's own power/energy. Selvic said he used the Scepter as a key to turning off or interrupting the Tesseract, maybe just for the fact that it's own energy is the only thing that can come close and touch the tesseract/cube while it is unleashing it's energy.

‘Fantastic Four’ Cast Revealed

After a final rewrite to the script and a long casting process, Fox looks to have assembled the team for its “Fantastic Four” reboot.

Miles Teller, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell will join Michael B. Jordan in the latest installment in the comicbook franchise.

Mara recently closed a deal to play play Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman. While no offer is out yet, Bell is expected to be tapped to play Ben Grimm/The Thing. Teller has an offer to play Reid Richards/Mr. Fantastic, but deal points are a little further away from being completed.

Teller and Mara have been on Fox’s radar since they were expected to test in November — events that were pushed when Simon Kinberg came on for the last polish on the script.

Bell came into the mix after Fox resumed screen tests.

Jordan has been attached for some time to play Johnny Storm/The Human Torch.

Based on the comic “The Ultimate Fantastic Four,” the contemporary update will focus on the characters as young men and women. Josh Trank will helm the pic with Kinberg, Matthew Vaughn and Gregory Goodman serving as producers.

With its four leads on board, Fox will now try to find its villain and hopes to test a handful of actors in the coming weeks.

“The Fantastic Four” is slated to bow June 19, 2015.

Hard to imagine scrawny Bell as Ben Grimm too, he'll be cgi'd as Thing but just hard to see him as Ben. Imagine if he keeps his British accent as Thing.

I like MBJ and I'm glad to see a brother get money and recognition but how do they plan on explaining Johnny and Susan being blood siblings if duke is black? Unless its some alternate universe thing. Also Miles looks goofy

Only really like Mara for this in my head (not counting MBJ cuz he been had the role). Hope they go with Dr. Storm and not just blond chick with a rich dad that dies.

He's playing Johnny Storm not Dr. Doom. Out of all the casting, he's the last to complain about. It's the Human Torch, the least complicated character of the 4.

I met a white girl who thought she was black. After meeting her parents I saw why. Her mom definitely adopted her.

she would always say **** like "Nu uh. I'm black. My momma is black". That **** was straight comedy. Doubt it is a unique story. I have even seen a movie where this asian basketball player thought he was black.
