Still weird the sequel won't have hunnam. Wonder if he'll be killed off, retired, or off doing something else. If a third movie gets made he could always return.

Yeah thought he was just too busy to do the sequel. Hate when writers write themselves into corners creatively because actors aren't available.

He was the worst thing about the movie. Like the only character he can play is the no personality Jax teller. Unless they wanted another lackluster box office, he had to go
Also this movie is a vehicle for Boyega who will likely be even hotter coming off of Episode 8. Ain't nobody care about Hunnam

It's like having a Predator sequel with no arnold and a Speed sequel with no keanu. It's just weird that the story continues without the main character in it if he didn't die in the original.

hes an E list actor. I.e. He's replaceable. Arnold and Keanu are not that. You don't continue to bring back people who aren't draws just to maintain continuity. PR cost 185 million and only grossed 400 million. That's not good. It needed a shake up
If Hunnam was the MC the movie would've likely not been given the go ahead

Jay is my guy but He was wooden as hell in Pacific Rim. He's kinda hit or miss with his roles

The movie wasn't even good to me. Not good enough to get a sequel but I get why they did it anyway.

^ I also wasn't a fan of the first one. Bad humor, horrendous acting, some of the fights were kinda anticlimactic. I mean how do you mess up a kaiju movie and make it bland. I still don't get the love for GDT
I mean it's another starring big budget role. He and daisy surprisingly haven't gotten any of those so it's better than nothing. He's also producing so hopefully it gets some more money in his pocket

Eh even smaller stuff only takes a month or 2 to film. I see Daisy vanishing as soon as the Star Wars hype ends. Unless Disney decides to make her a live action princess. Like I wanna say she turned down the tomb raider reboot, and I haven't heard her name attached to anything else
