starks kind of hit him with the side of his head, not he crown. so i think that one is OK. i think.

Was gonna post this gif but it was too big. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-q1zi9XtVAuw/UjX1D4exsLI/AAAAAAAAArc/BHOIZRtDiNI/s400/merriwe1.gif

It gives you another angle showing Starks leading with the crown just as much as Merriweather. Starks is a split second away from using his crown to hit Merriweather in the side of the helmet. If this does in fact go against this new rule I wanna assume Starks didnt get fined for the backlash that would ensue given the situation. The situation that was Merriweather already flying around the field spearing people with his helmet and handing out concussions. I personally dont care, just trying to understand this rule. What I do like, is that there werent flags thrown. (I dont think in Battles case either) I dont wanna see these plays that are up to discretion effecting the game one way or another. Enforce it off the field with fines.

starks kind of shielded himself. no malicious intent.

battle lowered his head running straight forward into the defender, wtih all intent to run his *** over.

stupid fine though

Why is everyone complaining about these Thursday games? It's one more game you wouldn't have been able to watch otherwise. Why are you complaining about more football?

I feel the same way. I love having Thursday night football :\

The quality of the games are usually very poor. And I also hate how there can be only 2 or 3 games on in the afternoon once teams start having bye weeks. Get rid of that Thursday game until November at least.

^How is that a problem, you can only watch one game at a time right? Maybe two if you have the laptop open or Redzone. TNF gives you a chance to watch an extra game that you wouldn't have been able to see in full otherwise. I mean, even if the game sucks it's still football

I also like the fact that it shortens the news cycle a bit because there's something fresh to talk about by Thursday. And for fantasy football there's less down time in between seeing the players in action.

You'd rather watch a game on Thursday with much lesser quality than if that same game was played at 4PM ET on Sunday? I guess it's just preference. I can hold out and do without that Thursday game for the majority of the season.

I have the Ticket and am a flippin' technician with the remote control though. Plus with game mix, there isn't a whole lot I miss.

Are you talking about quality of the match ups or the quality of whats being produced on the field due to less time to prepare? Cause then I can see where your coming from.

Quality of what's being produced. Matchup I couldn't care less. I'd watch anything, but the quality on Thursday just isn't there.

They should of stuck with the Thursday gms around thanksgiving its way too early for all that man ppl got stuff to do unlike during the winter :rolleyes

Agree with this. teams like PHI are hurt from the short week.

Lotsof teams though. NE almost gave away a game where they were double digit favorites. Bill even admittedly said they were just doing their base plays and didn't give a lick of preparation to tailor to attacking the Jets D.

pretty much. I just used PHI because they run 80+ plays a game therefor would be more tired and would obviously need more rest than 3 days.

agree 100% with nixing the thursday night game. teams go into that game so half *** and banged up that it makes for bad football. NE didn't even have a full practice that week going into the jet game. i really only like thursday football on thanksgiving, for obvious reasons. and even on turkey day, i hate the night game. leave it with the two day games.

Teams like Philly are hurt from not being very good, and having a garbage QB

Well for me personally, I don't really watch scheduled TV other than sports. So with the NBA not in season I really like having that extra night with something to sit down and watch, and discuss. The quality doesn't bother me too much.. the Chiefs/Eagles game was entertaining imo. Under normal circumstances I'd probably never watch a Chiefs game out of a Sunday slate of games, but I'm glad I watched and got a chance to check out their defense.

I know what you guys are saying, the games always do seem to be a little less exciting for some reason. I guess I'm always gonna be on the side of more exposure to football, more often.

Does football really need exposure though? It's pretty damn popular :lol

I agree. Outside of the first game of the season, I don't like the Thursday games.

I feel the same way, they should hold the Thursday night games till later in the season, I mean believe me I love the football on a weekday but it just isn't as exciting, commentators aren't as into it, all in all it's just a different vibe. I'm much more for football on Sunday's because they're several games on and between my remote and NFL Redzone, there's nothing better than several football games on one channel.

Side Note: If Gronk plays tomorrow I hope he's playing at least 30snaps, my Pats gotta get this W before Atlanta next week.

i like the thursday games just because its a football game to look forward to & watch during the week, but at the same time you can add me to the list of people who say its got a different feel to it & the energy & match ups just aren't as good.
