I was just shocked the browns had traded away a guy they had just selected 3rd over all after his rookie season

You have to be the real Skip Bayless. You've convinced me.
Jared Allen back in Seattle!
Only see the positive from that change
All swear words need to be treated the same if they're going to pass this rule. Otherwise it feels like black players are being targeted.

i thought it's a few different slurs
"We have the current rule,'' Fisher said. " ... The N-word would fall under that category, the officials will be empowered to call a foul if there's racial slurs or statements about players' sexual orientation or even baiting the official in verbal abuse, falls under and ... it's going to be a very significant point of emphasis.''
In this respect, the NFL's proposed rule is hilariously wrongheaded. It plucks the word out of context, out of history, fixing a precise value on the use of a racial slur. Players are penalized 15 yards for saying "******"—not five or 10, or 20 yards, or a down, but 15 yards. Worse than holding, not as bad as intentional grounding. The rule is meant to stop a mountain troll like Incognito from looking across the line of scrimmage at a black player and calling him "******." But if such a rule were ever implemented and interpreted with the NFL's usual literal-mindedness, it would only end up policing and punishing more young black men who grew up with the word as a term of endearment than white men who would wield it with malice. Does anyone really think that a black player congratulating a teammate with "My *****!" is using the same word that Richie Incognito was using
i don't think it get's flagged between teammates...as your example mentioned, el pablo. but i could be wrong. it sounds like it's during verbal sparring with opponents.
agreed. what's the issue with the rule?
for those concerned about losing a game because of a flag for this, is it that hard not to say the word? and it's not just this word, it's a others as well from what i understand.

Yea. My question is is it really that hard for you to not say the word ?
For all the non-black people that feel this way, on behalf of the black community let me just say find something else to worry about. At the end of the day, if brothas for whatever reason want to use the N-word, we certainly have that right. The majority of the people that really feels this way above more so have an issue because "they" can't say the word themselves.Hope it gets passedThat is the proposed rule for the n-word.
