“@AlbertBreer: ******** have $6,315,869 in cap space ... That means a deal for DeSean Jackson likely would need to have years and guarantees.”

Lol thought they had quite a bit more then that. How are they goona sign their draft picks + sign Desean? That cap space is goona be incredibly tight and when RG3 asks for his extension, be prepared to lose some names.

It's tight for this year but they have 30 million in 2015 then like 87 million in 2016.

Teams have to spend 89% of cap space starting last year so all teams are going to be up against the cap.

The days of having 30-40 million in cap space every year is over. You gotta spend the money.

True that. Backload away.

Mack seems to be getting the most media love this side of Blake Bortles.

I trust it a little more with him though.

How much of the remaining cap space will the ******** need to spend on signing their draft picks? Thanks to the rookie pay scale system and the rule of 51, not much.

Most have become familiar with the draft pick pay system, which came into existence with the 2011 CBA. Rookies are paid according to where they are drafted. It’s not a strict slotting system and there is some negotiation over some terms of the contracts but basically the signing bonus and salaries are set and the contracts are all four years long.

That system both keeps the cost of the contracts relatively low and allows team capologists to know right now how much the rookie deals will cost against the cap for the next four years. The ******** have six picks in the draft. Here is the first-year cap number for each of their picks.

Rule 51:

When a team signs a player to a contract with a cap hit that puts it in the top 51 on the team, the player with cap hit number 51 is knocked out off of the cap number.

For example, Brandon Meriweather just signed a contract that counted $1 million against the 2014 cap. When his contract was added, the contract of Kai Forbath, which carries a cap hit of $570,000 became No. 52 on the list and was removed from the cap calculation. So, signing Meriweather added just $430,000 to the ******** cap total, his $1 million added into the cap calculation minus Forbath’s $570,000.

They'll be all set going forward.

Bars over clubs any day of the week

If I can't sit down at the bar and watch sports I don't wanna be there

The club's cool like once a month or 2 but I got friends that have to get a table every weekend and I'm good off that. Bars>
It's easier to talk to ladies at the bar too. Not trying to pay those bottle service prices either :lol

Watch out for the Jets... Jacoby Ford and Dimitri Patterson :rolleyes .

I actually like the Patterson signing. If can stay healthy, we can get nice play out of him at CB; had 4 INTs in 6 games before going down with a groin injury.

Ford signing, if he too can stay healthy, should have the KR/PR job to lose.

Jets should be throwing serious bread at DeSean right now. Go after Chris Johnson once he gets cut. Draft a TE. Pick up some CBs. Terrell Thomas was solid last year. I never liked Asante Samuel but I feel like Rex could work with him for a year or two.

DeSean, VIck and Chris....so much speed :{

Wouldn't mind CJ2K. DeSean is a crapshoot at this rate.

Ford hasn't been the same since the Liz Frank injury a few years ago. Hes been terrible holding onto the ball on PR/KR

“@EliotShorrParks: http://Spotrac.com is predicting DeSean Jackson will get a deal for 5yrs worth $48 mil, 14 mil guaranteed. So basically his last deal”

New agent, who didn't get anything off of the last deal.. So pushes his client to get a new deal, makes complete sense

Yeah? Damn. I just knew him by name, haven't been familiar with his play as of late.

Had a rookie year that showed a ton of promise, made some monster plays for a dude his size. Sucks his body couldn't hold up but he hasn't been the same since the injury.
