Just to break up the playoff talk a little. Looks like Rex got some new ink. I gotta admit, the JETS suck. But this guy is absolutely hilarious.
His wife, with a Sanchez jersey. And to top it off hes got her TEBOWING.
Its most likely not real since it already looks faded (unless hes had it for a while, which would make it even more hilarious). But he loves playing up the media since hes knows they watching. He hasnt even given his press conference yet to end the season that is mandatory by the NFL. And hes lounging on the beach with new ink.

London Fletcher has had a very good career and his starting streak is great in itself. However, make no mistake champ, the only way London Fletcher gets in the hall of fame is if he purchases a ticket like everyone else during normal business hours. Maybe they'll give him a discount since he'll be a former NFL player but that will be about it.
London Fletcher may have similar or even better numbers in certain areas compared to Ray Lewis, but that's not going to cut it for London Fletcher. At no point in time was London Fletcher ever a Super Bowl MVP, defensive player of the year, leading member of a Top 5 defense in any year, and doesn't even have the pro-bowl selections to back up his resume like Ray does, that's says it all. Not to mention, when Ray Lewis announced his retirement it was breaking news in the sports media and everyone was buzzing about it, when London Fletcher retires it will be business as usual without anybody or anything skipping a beat and rightfully so.
I like London Fletcher and he has alot to be proud of as far as his NFL career is concerned. However, the only comparison that can be made with London Fletcher and Ray Lewis is that they both are black, and play the inside linebacker position in the NFL, and that's about it. Ray Lewis is a legend while London Fletcher is not and nowhere close to being one.

i don't know how any rational minded person could look at the statistics posted above and make that statement. more tackles in less years played, but because he doesn't have pro-bowl selections he's not hall of fame worthy?

I go back and forth with London. I do think comparing defensive numbers is harder than looking and comparing offensive players. I know the log jam at WR, are there a lot of great LBs waiting or is that position pretty 'clear' with the HoF?

London was the leading tackler on a Super Bowl winning team. I don't see how the supporting players around him effect his individual efforts, which the Hall is all about, but in 2008 the ******** were the 4th ranked defense in the league and Fletcher was the leader of it. If you've watched every ******** game since he joined the team it's clear that Fletcher is worthy of being considered for the Hall. He's a leader, and his numbers back up why he should be deserving. He also has that insane consecutive games played streak that's crazy to have for a MLB.

It ain't just about the numbers or pro bowl selections champ, although that does help build the case, that's what alot of you dudes are failing to realize. It's also about impact to the game and other factors. As of right now at this very moment, nobody........or hardly anybody for that matter cares about London Fletcher. If hardly anybody cares about London Fletcher NOW what makes you dudes think folks will care about him later on down the line when as a former NFL player he'll be even eligible for the HOF.
To me, there are alot of factors that go into a player getting in to the HOF, but generally speaking from my point of view to either get into the HOF or even be brought up for voting for the HOF as a player you should be considered Top 3 at your position for at least a 5 year span consecutively, give or take. Unless you have had an impact moment in the game of football overall like Joe Namath did with his Super Bowl III prediction or something like that but that's the exception the rule. With that being said when has London Fletcher ever been considered Top 3 as a linebacker on a 5 year span at any point in time during his career. Answer...........NEVER.
I don't mind dudes campaigning for their favorite players or the players on their team and all but it's time for folks to get realistic here and stop thinking locally and start thinking nationally.

Also, another reason why I feel the way I do about HOF players if that if your name is brought up in conversation for the HOF as a player it should be a no-brainer or folks. People really shouldn't have to go "back and forth" if your name is mentioned. Meaning if your not a 1st ballot HOF selectee unless the ballot for that particular year is just that loaded with other worthy HOF players and you don't get in because they only allow a certain number of players each year then your not truly a HOF candidate. That's just from my viewpoint.

I agree that this is how the HOF should be but the problem is there are already many 'iffy' inductions so hard to now take a 'firm stand' when players waiting are more deserving than some that are in

To me London has had just as good of a career as Ray, he just hasn't had the supporting cast around him to be on an outstanding defense and to get the recognition. The numbers don't lie.
If Ray Lewis played for a team that didn't put the correct pieces around him and ended up not winning any awards, mvp's, pro bowls, and whatever, would you be saying the same thing about him? I doubt it.

I hate HOF debates. Mainly because like dmx said - some players can get in by default, essentially, because players ahead of them who maybe weren't as good, got in.
I'm also more strict. I think it's strayed more towards Hall of very good with the best of the best mixed in.
On this question at hand, I'm in agreement with Duece. It's hard to argue against London though, because those stats are amazing.

The way I see it with this Ray and London debate is that's its always easier to be the "best" player on average defense.
Ray was the best LB in the league on ravens defenses that up till the last season or 2 were tops in the league.
His numbers and leadership were outstanding on a defense with multiple pro bowlers and potential HOFers.
