RG3 was mishandled from the beginning in Washington

RW was put in the perfect situation

Some of the blame can be placed on RG3. While I'm VERY surprised by the benching, and this most likely means his tenure is over in DC, I think Gruden is doing the right thing by showing that no one player is above the team. I guess Gruden had seen enough on the field and in film review to solidify his decision to bench Griffin. It is what it is.

Do you think there's a chance that Snyder picks Bob over Gruden and Gruden is gone after this season?

I heard someone on sports radio point out that this kid is the only QB that they've heard call their coaches by their first name during a presser. Mike and Jay. Never noticed it but I can't think of how many times I've seen that before.

not a chance...snyder isn't eating 20 mil of Gruden's salary. Gruden will have every opportunity to mold the team to the identity that he wants.

i wonder if shaun phillips was claimed

:lol :{  @ Darren Rovell's scrub self with those #wellactually tweets.

Perfect example of why ESPN and other media took shots and played dumb with Sherman & Baldwin. Too many media personalities got their heads so far up their own ***** and think the world is better for it. Fools.

RGIII was ruined when Shanahan kept his hobbled *** on their garbage field in the playoffs instead of pulling him like some of us were screaming for him to do. Maybe some of the Skins fans who defended the move at the time realize now how stupid that was.
Let's not act like RGIII wasn't out there begging to stay in. Guy loves trying to be the hero :{

Skins are gonna suck for at least another 3-5 years :\

RG3 for sure did beg to stay in. but Shanny and team doctors need to make that final call. i'd still put 80% of it on them.

this. absolutely took his career way off track

Snyder and Griffin were a huge part of Robert coming back too early during the regular season and playing in a playoff game he probably shouldn't have played it.

They're saying Snyder is finally starting to see that Griffin is the problem. Teammates and now problems with a second coach. It's a real bad look.

People were hating on RGIII for all the endorsement deals he was doing. Those deals look pretty damn good now if he never gets back to being that electric player. He's set. Then again, putting his brand/image as a priority over being a good football player is what got him into this situation.

I think the mishandling comments are more focused on the style of offense they ran his rookie year. They made the system so simple that he only had to look at one receiver, and if he wasn't open he'd take off. If they brought him in and ran a pro style offense from the get go maybe he'd be able to read an NFL defense now in his 3rd season.

Yep, Shanahan ****** that up big time. After we went up 14-0 on the Hawks he should've been pulled cause he could barely walk off the field after his last TD pass. Don't know how well Kirk would've played, but we could've won that game.

No, Robert should have sat for the rest of the regular season after hurting his knee and if he was 100% healthy, then play in that playoff game. If he wasn't 100% healthy in time for the Seattle game, he shouldn't have played.

Pretty sure Snyder is the problem tho

I can't see anyone taking Griffin over Sanchez. Griffin might play 12-17 games over the five years and not playing great during those games.

Sanchez might not be great but he's gonna be playing majority of that five years. He can throw the ball, read defenses some days, has two good knees, hasn't been called a coach killer or had as many problems with his teammates.

*hears fans talking RG3 being out the league...*

*hears fans taking Sanchez over RG3...*

*hears Mr. thoughts & questions himself turning his back on RG3...*

:lol well you have to be delusional talking that way about Sanchez but some folks have poor QB evaluation skills

However, the NFL will not fine Raiola for the final play of the game when he chopped Moore in the knees.

The NFL has fined Dominic Raiola $10,000 for unnecessarily striking Zach Moore in the head in the middle of a play in the fourth quarter.

Both 'em played a part in it. RG3 refused to run outta bounds and play smart. He wanted to act like he was Superman. Then all of the press conferences and drama, he's had 2 different coaches and it's been same story with him.

Chip is definitely who RGIII should want to play for.

I agree with this. He's still talented. If he can smarten up on the field and in dealing with the media I think he'll be fine.

If he can ever learn to read a defense, Griffin can be a damn good player in this league. Things should have been handled differently by both Griffin and the coaches (going back to 2012), but as long as he doesn't end up with another NFCE team, I'll want him to succeed. I just hope he's been humbled a bit and can figure out what he needs to do to become a better QB. There is still a good chance he's on the roster to being TC next year, but if he wants to take the reigns as the #1 qb on the depth chart, he's got to be better with his preparation. Simple as that.

Can't post the tweet for whatever the reason, but Cousins isn't even in the teams plans. I think Gruden has seen enough.

Anyone else hear Jay Gruden's press conference? He was asked if RG3 was better or worse than he was in 2012. Jay took the longest pause before giving an answer that wouldn't destroy his trade value :lol

Glad I held off on those Indy/Skins tickets. No way in hell I thought RG3 would be benched for it...
