No disrespect to Brady but in not going to go nuts applauding the guy for dumping his depreciating and highly taxable asset (one that he didn't chose nor need) on to someone. He knows what he is doing, calculated as always. Winning a car is the worst prize
I was being semi facetious

After being painfully required to take federal income tax at my school, I had to comment lol
Oh, some will insist on disputing whether Tom Brady is the best ever, but I'm not sure why. He just won his fourth Super Bowl and third Super Bowl MVP, and I can hear the argument: So, because Pete Carroll makes a ridiculous decision to throw the ball, Brady is No. 1? What, is Brady the one who intercepted it?
Nope, but Brady is the one who caused the stunning sequence that capped the 28-24 Patriots victory over the Seahawks. Think about it. Carroll's explanation for why he had Russell Wilson throw from the 1 with 26 seconds left, rather than hand the ball to the beastly Marshawn Lynch, was convoluted. But I'll break it down for you.
Carroll: "We're going to leave them no time, and we had our plays to do it."
Translation: He was petrified to give Brady the ball back even with less than 30 seconds remaining.
Carroll: "We throw the ball really to kind of waste a play."
Translation: He was willing to take an unconscionable risk to waste a play because he was petrified to give Brady the ball back.
In essence, the Seahawks weren't playing to win the game at that moment. They were playing to win the clock game, as offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said afterward. I assume they felt compelled to do it because Brady was in the midst of one of the great fourth-quarter flourishes ever.
Don't really care about GOAT stuff from the instant reactionary media and that playcall is still inexcusable, but damn. I never really thought about it that way.You can argue Carroll's gaffe cost the Seahawks the game, but Brady's looming presence facilitated Carroll's gaffe. By trying to play it smart, Carroll was guilty of over-thinking, and then was victimized by Wilson's poor throw and a great play by unheralded Patriots rookie Malcolm Butler.
