It was a desperation move for the most important position and no UFA wanted to come to Washington. Snyder fell in love with Wentz and forced him here via trade instead of letting him hit FA and potentially going elsewhere. Yes Snyder was betting against himself but it was a calculated risk that didn’t work out like every other FA QB pickup this season (minus Geno). And we recouped the 3rd round pick traded to Indy when Scherff walked.
