wasn’t that.. he had a cap hit of 26.1 mill next season, all of the remaining guaranteed money on his deal was next season even though he had 2 actual years remaining on previous deal

it was either a new deal or post june 1st cut to break up the cap hits of the dead money

now in this, without seeing the actually terms, I assume that 23 mill guaranteed is spread over 2 years and adds void years to spread out bonus hits and lower cap hits throughout

he might have had offers for slightly better money, but I doubt it was that big of a difference to get him to actually want to leave
