Can some of you football gurus help me with something? Why don’t teams have a play ready for situations where the previous play was on the border of being a completion and therefore had a high chance of being reviewed? Like, if a pass was barely caught and the defensive teams guys upstairs are looking at replays to see if they should challenge it...why not do a no huddle play on the next one- either a spike or simple run play. Negating the chance of a red flag. I never see teams do that...they casually walk up when the guy who caught the ball probably knows it was no good
