NFL Regular Season Thread 2019-2020: The Brazen Bahamian Battles Over Eli’s Legacy Til He’s Blue In The Face

eli passing attempts: 8,119

flacco passing attempts: 5932

also eli aint that far away from being outside the top 10 in both REAL soon

Passing attempts just means your team either trusted you or they didn't. Good-Great QB's are gonna have high attempts.

Brett Favre
10,169

Drew Brees
10,161

Tom Brady
9,988

Peyton Manning
9,380

Dan Marino
8,358

Eli Manning
8,119

Philip Rivers
7,591

John Elway
7,250

Ben Roethlisberger
7,230

Warren Moon
6,823

All these dudes are HOF'ers.

Passing attempts just means

means you got opportunities.. eli should have been benched years ago.. but instead they kept firing coaches, GMs and moving other guys

vinny testaverde retired top 10 in both stats you mentioned, frequently.. and he aint in

Vinny got 2 SB MVP's??

Every QB's you try to bring up to discredit Eli don't have his accomplishments. You just gotta deal with it bruh.

Also we know Eli has thrown a lot of INT's but check this out. Favre is 1st all time in INT's, Peyton is 9th in INT's, Marino is 8th, Eli is 12th.

frank gore had a good career solid career playing wise.. i'm amazed he lasted as long as he did after went he went through at miami.. lasting as long as he did/does is great.. but cant pretend dude hasnt averaged under 4 yards per carry since 2013

but he dont deserve to be in the HOF.. there are only 28 RBs in the HOF

just like there are only 26 QBs in he HOF.. eli having a few great moments, 1 very good season (2015) and 2 good seasons (2011 and 2014) shouldnt get him in

just like gore was very solid, good most of the time.. but he was never a great RB.. it makes sense he has the 1 second team all pro season, which was also the only year he had over 5 yards per carry

Frank Gore tore his ACL 3 TIMESSSS! Before even entering the NFL. To accomplish what he did is a FEAT! And his team made it to a SB although they lost, he lead them to the dance

PAUL HORNUG is in the HOF.... let that marinate. PAUL MF HORNUG who was trashhhhhh and a backup RB.

Gore was also a duel threat and good receiver too. AP May have more highlights but he was a terrible receiving back. Frank was way more versatile.

Curtis Martin is in the HOF. If he belongs, so does Frank. They‘re equals

alot of trash is in there.. that doesnt mean you should just accept certain dudes.. and it's hard to judge dudes when it was a completely different game and they could have had THAT level of impact then

like dude you mentioned has 2 first team all pros and a 2nd team.. eli never made 1, no season in his 16 years was he ever viewed to be THAT good

troy aikman shouldnt be in the HOF, for example.. but should be remembered and is remembered.. the super bowls will obviously be remembered.. and he deserves as many honors as the cowboys have and can give.. and eli deserves the same from the giants.. but neither should be in when you have under 30 dudes at that position in the HOF

We can’t compare eras.... but dudes where up in arms when certain 1930s, 40s, and 50s era players made the all 100 teams. Same can be said about these bloated modern stats and rules changes.

Matthew Stafford and Tony Romo might make the hall one day off NUMBERS... so will Matt Ryan... think about that.

Frank Gore bridged both eras. He belongs. Stop picking and choosing.

Yeah you trippin now.

Frank had a stretch where he rushed for 1k yrds 9 outta 12 years. For a RB that's crazy consistent.

dude was a good solid player.. not a great one... any given season you could easily say i'd take a couple guys over him

that doesnt make him a bad player.. it just doesnt make him a great one.. while his longevity was a great feat, so are alot of things that wont get players into the HOF

because when you're saying you are making a list of the top 100 players ever

you have to take the top 100 guys, or should.. it's impractical to say take a tackle who may have been good in the 1950s but is now almost 100 lbs smaller than guys at his position.. or not put say TO on it because of whatever politics is going on with dude

when considering the HOF, you are comparing these guys verses their actually era and the guys they played against and the impact they had then

obviously the TE position has evolved greatly, so cant compare say mike ditka to say zack ertz

He didn't have the peak of some great RB's but he's a HOF'er. 9 years you rush for 1k yrds when there are RB's who don't even play for 9 years.

Yea those are some pretty bad takes because you’re just “not a fan” of Manning. His numbers put him in. He’s career accomplishments and accolades put him in. Only nine players in NFL history have led more regular-season game-winning drives than Manning. Two of the biggest comebacks that don’t even count in that stat, were on the biggest stage of them all.

But lets go with “but his record is 117-117...“ So we’re going to conveniently forgot football is the ultimate team game all of a sudden. Just for YOUR argument. We’re going to conveniently forgot the bad defenses he/the giants have had towards the later part of his career? They lost more one score games last year, when leading going into the final couple minutes of the 4th quarter than any other team. (They had eight losses;they’re defense performers any better and holds on, their record is 13-3 lol). But let’s ignore that aspect of a record. Then continue with the “But Eli was trash the last part of his career...” and seemed to forget he played with one of the worst o lines in the league for the last 5 years and was sacked and hit as much or more than the next because it didn’t help YOUR argument. While during that time he threw for almost 110 TDs and about 30% of his 57,000 yards.

yea this aint the NBA.. gore deserves to be commemorated in some form.. but the hall should be reserved for greatness.. if you aint got at least two all pro seasons, shouldnt even be a real discussion

you also seem to forget the other QBs who played during that time. QB would be a hard spot to fill on any all pro ballot with Brady, Peyton, Rodgers,Rothlesberger, Rivers,Brees, Romo and I know I left others out.

So you admit there are a decent amount of QBs that are just flat out better than dude

hell he only made the pro bowl 4 times and we know how much of a joke that is

But saying that, that’s all you take out of it. Not that the talent pool at that position was completely unreal unlike years prior.

Or like with Troy aikman only reason I don’t take a bunch of other dudes over him is if I get those titles too

I’d easily take romo over both if we are just talking QBs

but titles skew the argument.. cant move on when you should because.., can’t bench dude because..,
