MLS is established and has been around. It’s also the “majors”.

XFL doesn’t pretend to be that and has a multi year plan for success. They haven’t rushed into it, if they get some serious sponsorship - get used to be a feeder program into training camp and great or create some good players in the process there could be sustained success.

It’s going to stem from offense and QB play though, if it’s not exciting they are screwed. If there is a second contract that could at least be in 6 figures with continued growth.

Going to be sponsorship and a real TV deal to get to that second step. Be interesting to see if they can get there.

American kids In high school and college and even dudes who come from Europe to play soccer in the NCAA’s see the MLS as the ultimate goal, especially if they aren’t planning on trying their hand in playing in Europe or South America.

With that being said, the XFL will have to be a feeder to the NFL to sustain success, but that ultimately defeats the purpose of playing in the NCAA’s. The collegiate level is supposed to be the foundation to propel you to the NFL. Quite frankly, we don’t even know if the NFL even wants the XFL to act as a developmental league. They tried it with NFL Europe in the early 2000’s and they could still do it with the with an already established leagues such as the CFL and Arena League.

I’m not even sure if people want more football, society is slowly realizing how brutal this game is. You’ll get those guys to be in the XFL who all they want to do in life is just play football, which is fine, but me personally, I’m not going to be tuning in to see Connor Cook throw passes to Ryan Broyles on Wednesday nights.

The guys I grew up with and know that are still playing football in college or in the NFL all took their education seriously and can go use their bachelors to start great careers outside of football.

Some of you guys are missing the fact that it’s $55k for like what... 6 to 8 games?

That would be a $4 - $7,000 pay check per game. Not Costco or ATT (52 weeks worth). It’s maybe a 2 to 3 month season... guys are seeing a very small picture for some reason.
 
Nobody knows how long the season is going to be. For the guys that are under the $55k mark, they better keep their day job in the offseason. Paying for your own travel arrangements and food will dip into your paychecks as well.

McMahon’s pockets are long but he’s been putting out dog **** quality of a wrestling show for years now.

The re-establishment of the XFL is just an ego move for Vince. Dude is one of the biggest egomaniacs out there. His initial product failed and he wants to see if it’ll work again. I doubt this is coming from a place of genuine love for the sport of football.

Better question to be asked and answered, are you guys going to watch the XFL? Especially considering there’s NFL football being played on Monday, Thursday and Sunday. Combined with college football on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
 
Barely watch college football.. I didn’t watch that shh they had on abc or nbc or cbs or wherever it was couple months ago

I watched the the AAF, I’ll watch the XFL.

All the startup, drafting, seeing if it becomes a success intrigued me.

None of y’all passing up the chance to make 55k for a couple months, to work at no gat damn At&t
