**NFL Week 5 in Review**

so Mark Ingram not being used in NO is a reason why u dont pick a RB 1st?
and Adrian Peterson is what?
Trent Tichardson?
marshawn Lynch?
Steven Jackson?
You dont take those guys in the 1st round....
:lol
Goodbye thread.

Of course there are outliers, but in today's NFL you don't need to waste a 1st round pick on a RB because you can EASILY get talent in rounds 2-7 that's comparable.

I've been saying this all along - Unless you got a RB on your big board w/ the skill set of AD, there is no reason to take a RB that high.

Imma agree with JJs07. There are exceptions but you can find gold in later rounds if you know what your doing; Terrell Davis 6th rd, Herschel Walker 5th rd, Michael Turner 5th rd, & Bo Jackson 7th rd just to name a few...

How you gonna use Herschel and Bo Jackson as examples :lol

Before yesterday, Tony Gonzalez was on pace for 104 receptions.

Now it's 124...

...the ****?

Oh yeah, now we're throwing 50+ times and Matty Checkdown is gonna check down.

Still would be nice to run the ball some...

MJD, michael bush, ahmad bradshaw, pierre thomas, matt forte, ray rice, jamaal charles, benjarvus green ellis, lesean mccoy, shonn greene, arian foster, demarco murray, stevan ridley, roy helu, alfred morris...among others have all been drafted outside of the 1st round in the last 6 years.

there's some pretty good names on that list.

Another thing....guys like Peterson, Jackson, and to some extent, Lynch were drafted into a MUCH different NFL. A day when it wasn't out of the norm for a RB to get 25+ carries in a game.

In the pass-heavy, 2-back NFL that we are now watching, I don't see how you can find what I said about not taking a RB in round 1 that egregious.

You do realize that Bo went #1 in '86 and and only fell to the 7th in '87 because no one thought he would play football....right?

Seahawks
- Bruce Irvin :hat Such a risky pick but it's paying off
- The entire D harassed Cam, but the Hawks were still lucky to pull off that win.
- Hawks need some consistency with the offense to match the defense, but there were still some good plays here and there

The Rest
- The Jags & Titans...LOL.
- Luck seems like a stud, but wait a bit before you fap to him.
- Vikes still looking good. Did not at all see see them being in front of the Packers and Lions.
- Bills :rollin Mario, Mark Anderson and Marcell Dareus were supposed to make that defense legit, yet they've given up 3000 yards already
- Brees is too good, but I'll never put any stock in the Chargers again. People stamping them as the AFC's version of the Cowboys are spot on.
- Good to see Eric Winston with that same passion like he had in Houston. Looks like he's the leader of the Chiefs already. Unfortunately that's like being a mod at sneakertalk.
- Willis McGahee :{ basically ruined that comeback.
- Look at that, Wes Welker is needed and being used like he should have been anyway. That 3 headed running game :x :hat Don't know how much I trust the Pats to keep that up though. Seems like just to prove a point, Bill can not use either one of them the following week.
- Ahmad Bradshaw and Reggie Wayne :x

Not gonna say anything till tomm considering our game is tonight.

Wassup with the packers? Can't find a grove offensively ? What's going on?

Before we all jump on the 9ers band wagon remember that bills defense let Mark Sanchez had 300 yards and 3 TDs

McGahee screwed Peyton out of that win :{

Watching the Pats yesterday after watching that special on the 95 browns made me appreciate the hoody that much more.

Where is that panthers fan that said they would win the division ?

This is why we shouldn't live in the moment , are Cam and Stafford still top 10? Yea.... No.

RG3 is headed down that Vick road, he needs to chill with the hits he's taking, learn to slide and get out of bounds.

I'm glad the eagles lost, they are 3 plays from being 0-5 :lol

Nice to see Jay doing work, now lets see what happens when he comes under pressure and which Jay is going to appear.

Bears / Vikings 4-1 and packers / lions on the outside looking in.

CJnevertouching1K had 15 carries for 24 yards.

Bresus and Colston Balled :hat

Wes :hat I'd give a 3rd rounder for him 8o

Not a classy move by the Chiefs fans at all :{ I understand your frustrated with your Franchise but to cheer? :{ :|

Seattle :hat Pete :hat

Browns aren't as bad as their record indicates :lol :{ imagine had they drafted Julio instead of trading for what they did :{

Will tebow bless the nation tonight?

Jordan Sparks :hat :evil

Tony Gonzalez is the GOAT. Look at his durability over the years too...he's only missed like 2 games in his career? Physical freak!

Giants

Bizzare start to the Giants/Browns game, fumble on first possession and breakdown by REPLACEMENT safety (which he admitted to), first two scores were flukes. We don't have Hosley, Kenny Phillips, T. Thomas (best corner) out there...its been a revolving door. Once Eli drove them down the field the defense held them to two FG's before a garbage time score, defense did its job.

Pass rush and secondary go hand in hand, you can't just say oh the secondary is playing poorly when every week somebody is out, and the Giants keep rushing 4 as if thats enough. Giants don't pressure the QB consistently with only 4, whenever they rushed 5-6 Weeden made bad decisions, which is what they should've done last week vs Vick. It goes both ways, Weeden had a lot of time to throw early on in the game, nobody can cover WR's for an extended period of time.

With that said, Giants have a lot more talent than last year, they just need to get the pass rush going consistently and they'll be fine.

Oh, and Prince is quietly turning out to the Giants most physical corner, shame T. Thomas can;t be out there competing for that title :x

McGahee screwed Peyton out of that win

:rollin :rollin :rollin

It was 31-7 bruh. McGahee screwed up the attempt, not the win. I'm sure it was all Willis's fault they was down 4 scores to begin with. :lol

Peyton shall never, ever, eva eva eva eva eva eva be part of no blame. No sir. And when receivers make ridiculous one handed grabs, cuz Peyton meant it that way. :lol

Anyhoo,

Reggie Wayne :hat That man was possessed yesterday.

Andy Reid, listen, at the 1, hand the ************* ball off to your ************* running back that rarely fumbles. STOP letting your stupid QB that can not figure out that 3 can not block 4 and yet continually gets hit from behind and fumbles run the ball. That is what Shady is for, just like Westbrook before him. Andy, dude, WHEN? When we will you learn? :x

RGIII, get down young man.

Cam is not having the same year this year. |I I miss last year Cam already.

Cards should draft O lineman in all 7 rounds next April.

KC fans. :{

Troy Polu is done. Dude gets hurt standing by hisself. Put a bullet in dude and let's move on.

Gates has lost a step and it's showing. You could NOT match that man for YEARS, and now he's having to scrap and fight and claw for 19 yards. |I

Props to D Brees.

Rivers has this weird motion, angle, throw, and yet that ball spins right where it needs to be.

Ryan Mathews needs to get the ball Andy, I mean Norv.

Wes. Interesting to see what NE does with him this offseason.

Houston is going to do something foul to the Jets tonight. This game may get called at the end of the first half. Glorified scrimmage coming up.

Santana Moss, Wayne, and Gore all reach the paint for the U. I suspect Andre will tonight as well unless Cro bring's all his kids out on the field with him.

--49ers "You already know that the business is"--I gotta give credit where credit is due, earlier I said Falcons were nothing more than a dome team and yesterday they were able to actually beat a good/very good team outside in the elements so congrats to them. Maybe just maybe they have turned the corner as a team.--Congrats to Brees for breaking Johnny U's record.--Looks like the Eagles ran out of luck yesterday.--The Colts with the come from behind victory.--No run game, no real QB, the Cardinals better hope their defense can create turnovers and score for them.

psk knows...?

McGahee dropped a 4th and 1 and he fumbled when they were driving and only down by 10 and within scoring distance.

I would love to know how any of that is PM fault?

Pitt
Nice grind out win, much needed
WRs had a bad day with drops, could have cost the game
Harrison does make a difference
Timmons looked nice and played well
D all in all played better
Was surprised Mendy was that effective
Willie Colon may be the worst OL ever
Unfortunate Woodley went out, probably wait till next Sun to play
Ben with zero TOs, playing efficient ball
That said the team hasn't had a big play all year
Zero sacks, not sure if that has ever happened
Hitting hard apparently is just illegal now and the refs need to learn what a shoulder is
Last but not least

You may want to start getting ready to say goodbye to Troy. I have a bad feeling this leg injury isn't going away and he is the type that won't let football be the end all be all. If it does get to that point, on behalf of the Nation thank you for the years of service. Those rings don't happen without him. Absolute beast

Elsewhere
Refs suck. Terrible in Cincy, terrible in NO. I know some thought the refs were trying to hand the Saints the game, but no they are just that incompetent and it happened to go their way.

- mcgahee only blew it for the broncos after ridley almost blew it for NE.
- said it after the game: peyton goes wild statistically. loses game. sounds about right. that said, it's easy to chuck it when you're down 4 scores.
- teams playing the pats with 5 and 6 DBs are getting TORCHED by our ground game. soft team my ***.
- wes welker...why did you need to take a shot at bill after the game? basically asking for a trade.
- pats defense making plays when they need them the most the last two weeks. still giving up yards on yards though.

- props to andrew luck. outshining aaron rodgers.
- poor bills.
- dolphins are the second best team in the AFC East, as of right now (don't care about standings).
- good win for pittsburgh...vick NEEDS to be better with the ball.
- saints and brees were scary last night throwing the ball.
- RGIII took a SHOT

Oh and KC fans should be better than that. Due to their rep I was surprised and disappointed

Deadsetace what did Wes say? 8o

he was asked how it feels to be amongst tops in the league in receptions after a very quiet week 1 and he basically said, "it's nice to stick that in bill's face...feels good".

i'm paraphrasing, but essentially i don't see the hoodie taking that too well :lol

EDIT: just to add, **** the reporter who asked that question and basically baited him into making a wise *** comment. the question came from one of the local radio personalities here who KNEW exactly what might happen with that question. was not as innocent a question as it sounded. eff you, felger :lol

It's true though :\ I understand the pats way of doing things but he's their best weapon outside of TB12 IMO.

But like I said, if you don't want him well gladly take him off your hands :lol

Do it Mitch :lol

^ hope it's harmless. whether or not bill finds it offensive, it's causing a media hoopla and distraction, which bill def hates.
