Nike Air Jordan 4 Retro "White/Cement" - The Aftermath - NO BUYING/SELLING/TRADING

If these are 250, I'm out.

225s a strong maybe.

There's just to much heat or there for me to be sweating over one pair of sneakers. Hopefully JB realizes this, but I doubt it.

OG speckles were amazing. The 99's barely even have any on the tab in comparison. The 2012's were horrible in terms of shape, and I have a ds pair, but hear constantly how uncomfortable they are which does not surprise me since the bred IV's from 12' were uncomfortable also.

Shape wise OG > 99 > 12
Speckle wise OG > 12 > 99
Quality wise OG > 99 > 12

and in closing, that shade of grey used on the 2012 is INDEED much closer to the OG color of the grey than 99's are or were. That being said the 99's are a great retro but certainly has its flaws, just like the 12' pair certainly does.

Hope to see improvements for the new release, and if so, I'll be looking to secure at least one pair.

Usually don't care, but that amount of speckling on the OG's looks far better than the lack of it on the other two.

Yeah and it looks the most like actual cement. Not that the speckles are supposed to be the color, but I always thought they called it cement grey because it looked like cement after the speckles too

I don't care if its tech grey or how many speckles or banana shaped mold.

Take my ******* money. These are one of my grails.

Banana mold is a deal breaker. That's where I draw the line. And the main reason I haven't bought a new release in many years

While needing some work, compared to the banana toe boxes on the AM1s and AM90s in recent years, these are quite acceptable to me.  Dare I say that I started my interest in NA and Jordan with this model and colorway, and I'll end it with it as well (IF I can get my hands on it!).  I have way too many shoes, and feel badly that I can't get to wear them all enough to really break them in.  Each one has some kind of irritating flaw, and generally retros aren't the most comfortable, and can be clunky.... So many better things to spend money on (and time).  I think I'll enjoy what I have until 75% are beaters, then start to collect again.  We'll see if I can actually follow thru on that!  First step:  Get one pair of these...ideally 2!

will ndc cancel these now or day before ?

What exactly make a banana mold anyway? Is that considered when the shoe curves upward from heel to toe?

Yes the shoe is less streamline and aerodynamic looking like the originals. Bulky *** toe boxes and curved banana shape like their made for fat people and not athletes. Plus nobody's foot is shaped like that anyway I don't understand why they do it

I originally shared my thoughts on the Banana-Toe in the JB Remaster Thread

Hope its useful here. Sorry for the repeat for those who might have read before

OK, so this gonna be a long post with some big quotes, apologies in advance

The main difference in the shape of the OG shoes, and how the post-1999 molds ruin the look is reflected in the boxy, curled up toe box
There has also been significant pinching around the mid-foot and heel that is causing the overall shape to go Banana up

In the above picture of the OG, Ive marked how the toe-box is rolled down so it maintains a nice forward angle. In addition, you can see that the side leather forms the correct parallel "wave pattern" with the outsole. Most modern IV's pinch in here. Finally, the heel bump in the back is pronounced because the overall height of the ankle is higher, demonstrated by the larger space between the midsole and the Wing-Tab

In this picture we can see the difference that all the pinching has caused in the middle of the shoe. Even if the the toe box was properly rolled down, the inching would probably create a banana-toe effect anyway. But of course, the toe-box is also enormous and bulges up instead of following the angle of the shoe downward

Overall, I know that some of these differences are insignificant to many people, and in the normal retro threads I try to keep the ranting to a minimum. But I would think that if JB is gonna bother to remaster at all, then they should do it right.

The IV is meant to have a sloped, almost triangular look to it that gives it a sleek, forward looking esthetic like this OG below

I'll also include this nice comparison pic that shows how important the "wave pattern" leather is to maintaining the proper shape. The 99's kind of have boxy toes, and yet, because the mid-foot leather is wide and parallel, there is enough space below the wing tab and the esthetic of the shoe is maintained

Below is my original post on the 2012 BC IV

You can see how little space there was between the wing-tab and the midsole
