It said 2015 on IG. im just posting the info. That is the 2011 release...come on guys really??
Whoever posted that is trolling hard. I have a 2011 pair...IDENTICAL. Plus look at where the laces meet the upper...sewn. No spaces for any motion or retraction. It said 2015 on IG. im just posting the info.
I'm curious why people say these will be "way" over $500 retail??? Keep in mind the first pair that released where auction off & donated to a cause. A basic release shouldn't be $1000 plus anything IMO not over $500 either. Think about besides the Air Mags (because they where auctioned off) practically every shoe that releases is below $500 (leaving room for shoes that are released in a pack) Resellers and limited amounts of production cause a $240 sneaker to sell for $5000 plus & a $350 shoe to get up to $4000 in price. But that's not the brand's official price.
Seeing as there will be some sort of motor, charging station, LEDs, etc people are assuming Nike will price it at a super premium.
Seeing as Nike has released Air Forces that costed $2000 MSRP without caring why wouldn't they price their most anticipated shoe of all time at a high price point?
Gonna need a lot bigger battery than the ones in the original version or the replicas to run 2 motors in that new lacing system, much more AHr than was needed to power small LEDS. This is assuming the motors are actually strong enough to pull the laces "tight". It's nothing new, as far as the charging, just bigger from what i expect. Bigger mahr batteries will add to cost, so will these motors, and so will the "technology" of an autolacing shoe. That said, i dont think this shoe will be anywhere near thousands....on retail
Edit: And caps. Caps are probably getting charged up too.
People just said it was over $500 and I agreeed with that. I'm guessing 750$ or $800
I never said LEDs necessarily cost a lot but I sure as hell meant Nike was gonna charge a lot for them and their swoosh.
Also the shoe that you showed didn't have the actual expensive piece; the autolacing.
Regardless of the reasoning this is one of, if not the biggest, hyped release ever. Even if some haven't seen the movie they see the MAG as a pathway to get their 'Grail'. It sucks but I think it holds merit
