Unpopular opinion: I really liked the blue on the 2003 pair.. went to look them up and never realized the tongue mesh was black on those.

I don't think they're a new batch at all. I think it's similar to the More Uptempos from 2016/2020. I can only hope Penny 1s are like this also.

The 2003 Black/ white release had a black tongue with a royal blue inner sock liner. The og’s, 2009, 2015, and 2020 retros had the concord tongue.

Released the same day as the Air Jordan 8 retro OG white/grey/red. Along with the black/blue Air flight Huarache!

The 8’s and the Barkley’s sold out instantly that day here in PG county. My 10th grade year in high school..

I remember those came out randomly in December of 2003. Randomly, the black/silver Total Air Foamposite max came out too lol.

Also, the Zoom Vick 1’s came out in December of 2003 too lol.
Yeah, those days were amazing lol
