I completely agree, nothing beats a great deal!

Luckily for me, Eastbay had an awesome promotion that saved me $45 below retail.

And since everyone is waiting for prices top drop lower than $187 shipped, I guess I'll be the only one with them.. looking extra exclusive and all.

Ordered them last Thursday and will arrive tomorrow before end of business day.. quick, easy, and painless, anything to avoid the referees at the local house of hoops.

I guess by these standards, I've achieved Niketalk Nirvana.

I'll post even more relevant information, quite possibly a photo or two, once I have them in hand.. or on foot.

Anything with Zoom Max has retailed for at least $180, then combined with Foamposite which typically increases the price on models

$225 is about what you would expect the shoe to cost in the current market

Nobody is boycotting the shoe. They just don't like it especially for the price.

That is a GREAT thing for anyone whom actually likes this shoe since it means below retails for 99% of the colors that will release.

I couldn't care less about exclusivity. I wear my kobe 8 graffiti pair regularly and I have never ever seen another person rock it .
Doesn't make it a better shoe.

If I could get these on heavy discount like the pippen 1s. I'll double up. Love this show but Nike isn't showing it much love and despite the price tag seeming apropriate it is smarter for myself and many of us to wait. The market is very saturated and these will be had as other people are chasing a mix of nostalgia, limited releases and the reigning Sig line. Imo these look better than I the irving shoes, hyper revs, hyperdunks, kds and Kobe Xs. on another I hope davis gets a Sig line but Nike has a crowded lineup.

Agreeing with a lot of the recent discussion. 

This shoe to me is like a mutant version of the LBX’s. That poison green/volt colorway especially. And once the foamposite breaks in, coupled with the full length visible zoom, looks to be a great shoe to hoop in. But I wasn’t even gonna dish $225 on the XX9s. Waited until I could cop of EB for $45 off and I’ll be looking to do the same with these if they ever get a price drop and I’m still feeling them but even then there needs to be a heavy discount because I just don’t see $225 as a reasonable price. Nike’s gotta stop it with these price hikes because there IS a ceiling on how much they can charge for shoes. There’s always gonna be those few on the hype train or those few that have it like that who will cop $225-$275 kicks regardless, but I think this forum alone gives us a small sample of what kind of reaction these price hikes cause. Even with the most commanding draw in the industry, retro Jordans, amongst a sea of die hard sneakerheads on this forum are receiving more hesitation than before. An extra $20 is getting even the most willing consumer to hold out for “must cop colorways” and we’re seeing that with retro Jays so far this year.

And that’s for shoes with outdated tech by 20-30 years. Now we’re talking about shoes with flywire, performance woven one-piece uppers, phylon, lunarlon, flightplate, etc etc. and yet people are still waiting for price cuts and coupon codes and the shoe designs aren’t even bad! A lot of them are actually really appealing, but a shoe is still a shoe. It’s only a necessity to a certain point. You can get by with a $40 pair of Vans just fine. Performance basketball shoes are a LUXURY and there’s a limit on how much someone is willing to pay for that luxury especially with cheaper options that. While they don’t offer the same level of cushion or support or what have you, still provide you with what you need for a basketball court.

TLR : Nike gotta chill with these prices.

Let me start by including some personal information.. I'm a true size 10, slightly wide feet, I currently play in Air Jordan XX9, Kobe 9 and Kobe 10, played in similar models prior.

Tried on with Nike Hyper Elite socks and walked around the house for a few hours.. with that in mind, here are my initial impressions.. subject to change after a few runs and real life wear.

They run true to size, however don't exactly fit like a glove, very stiff and not flexible, a little uncomfortable at first considering the internal bootie which is kinda thin, a little narrow through the mid foot, felt some heel slippage when tip toeing.. tightening laces to the top helped a little, yet a little digging from the foam occurred near ankle when tightening top eyelets.

I hope everything changes on court because I really like the look of these. I hear the foamposite molds to your foot, I really hope this happens. Fingers crossed that it's just break in time that's required.

Oh, and Eastbay.. they sent the shoe box in plastic bag.. The box was completely destroyed. I mean, I can't even get a box though? It was obvious that something was dropped on it, something heavy. I'll give them a call later with questions and concerns.

I've never been sent shoes in a bag from Eastbay although I've only gotten like two pairs from them. That's disgraceful on their end. UPS/USPS/Fed Ex are responsible for the actual damage, but EB should know better. I still hear about cases where Nike still does this. Bush league.

Yes exactly, I was absolutely shocked.

My initial theory was.. because the shoe box is bigger than the average Nike Basketball shoe box, they didn't have a large enough box to accommodate..

Then I started thinking.. Man, Eastbay sells a bunch of odd shaped items.. boots, basketballs, pads, helmets, etc..

There's no excuse.

Exactly.. these poor shoes are homeless.

And yeah, I'm hopeful they'll break in.. might even double up on Elite socks to conduct a little more heat to help speed up this foam molding process.

I'd like to know how similar they feel. Hoping these can be my rec league shoes. otherwise I could use some new outdoor beaters.

I've never gotten a chance to play in the Lebron X, but always heard great things, it definitely motivated this purchase. I've tried on a buddy's pair, but that was all.

In my opinion, just the upper is enough to make these completely different shoes.. I'm starting to feel that despite the cushioning setup, these are vastly different. I'm not sure about the science magic behind foamposite molding, but the shoe is stiff as hell.

I play quick, and I feel like these could slow me down. I sought out "zoom max" because I'm beginning to slow down a little, but these really feel like big man shoes.. like a light jog down the court, bang a little down low, grab a board or two, light jog back.. all while maximally cushioned and protected. I don't really see myself being dynamic or explosive in these unless I were 20 lbs heavier, solid muscle.

But again, judgement day is around the corner, unless of course I bow out before then.. always a possibility.

we need whoever cops em on here to run like 10 pickup games with em and drop a real review. we need to know if they conform to your foot and loosen up. the people need to know!
