I pulled the trigger too on there for about $221 shipped. Would have been $202 but didn't realize they started charging tax on ebay purchases in Kansas as of July 1st.

I got them for $210 but with shipping and taxes it came out to $230 I wasnt mad either way I only paid $10 over retail.

I can respect that fam. Having all pairs in hand, it's tough for me to pick a favorite but I have to go with, and this will probably shock many...the Gym Reds. They are so incredibly done and not only blow the OG Chinas out of the water but just the details on them. I'll probably get flamed but I think those are my favorite 8s now after having all these pairs in hand.

In 2011 I would have picked SB over MN, but again having both in hand now, it's a hard call. I'd prob lean towards the MN now..

I called this about a week before the official release. I said they would end up like the HWC in most sizes. As many have stated the only Lebron that retroed and has been over retail and stayed over retail is the South Beach/Pre heat and MN. I don’t think the SVSM will be bad if they ever release either. Old Lebron collectors know the deal. You’ll pay that premium if you want it early but after the official release most Lebrons will be at or below retail.

I got a bid out for $188 on fleabay, I think they'll be cool to have in the collection long term, but the movie itself likely won't retain it's place in the culture like the OG did. Still cool to put on ice for when #3 comes out in 2050

Yeah they are absolutely insane in hand. So much detail put into them. What's crazy too is out of all the retro 8s I think they are the most limited. I really applaud Nike for the retro 8 they made some amazing new colorways, released some PE types from the past, and brought back fan favorites.

I don't think there was any popular sneaker that had a movie or brand tie in that didn't go up in value over time.

After having both of those in hand...I can agree with that now. In 2011 I would have easily taken the SB over MN but I never owned either of them nor had I even seen either of them in person. They are both amazing shoes and to pick one over the other is almost crazy but yeah I'd give the slight edge to the MN.

So glad to finally add the SBs to the collection. I am most definitely team pink laces but the blacks are more subdued. Ohhh MNs…how limited you were the last time and knowing I had no realistic chance of copping at retail and resell was outrageous due to availability. Oh and you Space Jams…..the first half of your movie absolutely sucked but the script writing and jokes kept me entertained.
