Nike NBA Apparel and Jersey Thread: 2017-18 NBA Season Takeover

I think there are sprinkles of all the observations on Nike, built in together. Regarding just supply chain issues, I really think that's the major factor this year.

The way Nike.com and Fanatics is dropping goods, you can tell they are 4-6 months behind schedule. Nike literally dropping "2021" labeled jerseys still, while Fanatics just "dropped" a #20 Rams Jalen Ramsey jersey a month ago. The scoop that the Bulls anticipate more City jerseys well past the end of the season is another indicator how it's going. It goes back all he way to the faulty November release of the NBA city gear.

Also, teams store order stuff MONTHS in advance. A lot of issues people have with stock are major oversights by bad forecasting, rather than Nike itself.

Nike has its own issues though, no doubt.

Nike is making the authentic jerseys limited to build hype. Makes no sense to mass produce them because not everyone want to spend +$200 on a sleeveless shirt. Got nothing to do with supply issues.

I agree with this but to a degree.

Theres little reason to make permanent styles so scarce outside of the possibility of being left with a ton of overstock. Ie: why they stopped lebron from changing his number two seasons ago. They make what they can sell which is why lakers and warriors jerseys are super common and grizz jerseys are not (this is about to change with ja).

City jerseys def limited but the release has been messed up by the pandemic. Dont conflate supply with with supply chain. Were not talking about the lack of material, its the issues creating lack of access. City jerseys were supposed to drop simultaneously league wide in november. Bull got theirs two days ago. Thats not normal

Why can’t hornets n bulls release jersey same way ….Everyone’s gonna eat n no room for resellers. Especially the bulls store manager, so damn annoying, refused to sell one on Saturday but sent me a msg thru ins on Monday saying that they accept phone order but all sold out
