They aren't that bad. I'd pick up a pair on discount and repaint the stripes to something else tho. I see several interesting possibilities.

They are solid after a short break-in time. From my recollection identical to the OGs. Soft tpu heel counter in the retros but you can’t really tell from a performance standpoint.

I like the simplicity of them but I got enough black shoes. This would have to be a big discount for me.

Yeah, I notice that on the retro black/gold pair I got in comparison to the OG Black/varsity crimson pair. The Og's definitely feel more roomier. I don't know why that is the case. The retro's aren't as responsive, either as far as the Zoom Air.
