It would. Animal Crossing is used as an example all of the time to explain the most common idea of the metaverse, which is so loosely defined. Web3-native games are still in its infantry, with the exception of maybe Axie Infinity, but there's hesitation by many in the space whenever a traditional corporation tries to start a blockchain/NFT project. However, I believe there could be a sweet spot that helps onboard folks to web3 and established names like Nintendo could help, at least for web3 gaming. Can't see a company as big as Nintendo giving up ownership of anything, or even sharing IP rights with people, so that would be a huge barrier imo.

Saw this on Youtube last night :lol :lol :{

I think Silksong is too big for an Indie Direct. It’s gonna get its own Direct or Team Cherry will show it off on their own terms.

My only concern is the game doesn’t have the same grittiness the original Strikers had. It looks too polished, however this seems to be the case with all modern Mario games

i wanted another mario strikers game and i’m excited for this one but it def looks like it’s gonna suffer from the same problem other mario sports games have on the switch in that they lack content and personality

like they’re trying to make it a “baby’s first mario strikers”

the number one issue i have with this game so far is that compared to the other strikers games the gameplay itself looks so ******* SLOW

may not seem like a huge leap but it def makes a difference seeing it and i could tell right away

not to mention the field itself in older games looks appropriately scaled to an actual soccer field while this one seems too small

for comparison:
