i wanted another mario strikers game and i’m excited for this one but it def looks like it’s gonna suffer from the same problem other mario sports games have on the switch in that they lack content and personality

like they’re trying to make it a “baby’s first mario strikers”

the number one issue i have with this game so far is that compared to the other strikers games the gameplay itself looks so ****ing SLOW

may not seem like a huge leap but it def makes a difference seeing it and i could tell right away

not to mention the field itself in older games looks appropriately scaled to an actual soccer field while this one seems too small

for comparison:

GC Mario Strikers was one of my favorite, just saw a gameplay and it looks a little boring in comparison.

For real, feel like they should be doing just that

Are we still running smash ? What was the app we used ? My phone got stolen and lost it ....

looks like the new games are going to be a lot of fun improving legends arceus

it feels like we're not going to get a follow up to legends arceus until after the new games. but honesty if they continue to explore the pasts of each region tying this into a a whole larger storyline id be completely down for that. I'm tired of remakes as in between generation fillers. Didnt even finish remakes of diamond and pearl.

I like the idea of exploring the past and the different timelines omega ruby and alpha saphire touch on.

Arceus felt like a test run demo. The open world is definitely better and seeing pokemon in the open world is nice.

But the game felt dull, so much text and hardly any audio.

yeah i can resonate with that.

and the game stopped feeling "new" about halfway through because you pin balled between the same areas over and over. that said there was enough novelty in the new mechanics that i had a lot of fun with. I just think I would have had a lot more fun if the portal in the sky opened up and gave us additional areas to see. Gold and silver will forever be one of the greatest pokemon games because once you beat johto they opened up the entire world of kanto for you to explore. more pokemon to catch more gyms to beat.

not much to go off of based on that trailer but looks like your standard Pokemon game

seems more like an evolution of S&S than Arceus

free progression is cool finally but not being able to catch a Pokemon in real time via the open world like in Arceus is a huge step back smh

no it goes into some automated battle/capture animation right after she approaches it, insinuating that you’re going to have to engage in battle to catch pokémon again or at the very least it won’t be how it was in arceus where you could catch something super quick and go on about your day

oh wow i just took the "battle sequence" clip as them introducing some regional variant as budew and displaying the walk up and capture method all at once

i hope we dont loose that aspect

reviewed were mixed from what i saw

currently the lowest rated mario strikers game out but let us know your thoughts later

i’m def not scooping it until the discount hit
Mario golf was mixed and turned out to be my favorite sports game last year. 75 meta score isn’t bad at all either.
