Picked up a few games for my deluxe today: Darksiders II, Mario U, Sonic Racing, and Black Ops 2. Target, and Best Buy have some pretty good sales going on. I actually purchased a Wii U, never owning a Wii prior. There were only a few games I actually wanted to play so I got those used at gamestop. Tatsunoko vs Capcom is a gem.
smg 1 and 2, zelda... dkc the metroid series just to name a few... probably can get them for the cheap... or wii hack

I appreciate the recommendations. How are the controls for Zelda? I'm a little apprehensive about the Wii remote.
depend on which one you get... i recommend the latest one... you will need to get the motion plus controller or the motion plus adapter... Basically you use the stick on the nunchuck to navigate... you use the wiimote, to emulate the sword movements...and the nunchuck for the shield movement.... You also use it (holding a certain kinda way) to emulate the bow and arrow...

Also call of duty is cool on the wii... I liked it better then the regular console version because you can get the accesory that place the controls like a gun and pretty much your skills are based on your actual ability to aim and shoot (as you would have to do in real life)

Oh yea punchout is cool to because you use the controls to emulate actual boxing... that being a controller in each hand..(or you can get the motion gloves and wiipad) and basically it responds to your movements ducking dodging/blocking punching etc...

Really if you get a lot of the games your use to playing on ps3/360 that are shooters and 1st person you really cant go wrong. It gives you a first hand real life type of perspective on playing them versus the tradition sit and do all the movements via constrol stick and button smashing.

Nintendo should just re-release the Nintendo 64!!! One of the best gaming systems IMO!! Prob would get better sales too

Didn't wanna make another thread but in other Nintendo news, the DS has now sold more units than the PS2 making it the best selling videogame platform of all time.
http://www.vgchartz.com/analysis/platform_totals/

Maintaining its position as one of the most successful consumer electronic products in history,
PlayStation 2 has sold over 153.6 million systems worldwide

http://www.scei.co.jp/corporate/data/bizdataps2_sale_e.html

By 2011 PS2 had sold 153.6 million and they sold 4.1 million alone that year. No way would it have dropped to 0 this year.

VGCharts hasn't been tracking PS2 for about a year now and their numbers are estimates so they are usually off.
If the DS passes PS2, Nintendo will be the first to mention it not VGChartz since they have companies that track sales for them and they're more accurate.

The official numbers also come through when the financial year ends so just wait for confirmation.

I've been following this thread.  I might be getting my first nintendo since n64 for xmas.

Just came here to post this. Wii U has been hacked. FailOverFlow = AMAZING. Only a matter of time now....

Wow now these are selling below retail on cl. No luck for the resellers. Anyone looking for a basic can get one for $250.

If you didn't resell them between launch day and Black Friday then you're gonna be stuck with them, and since 7000 Wii U's were stolen maybe they're trying to flip them for cheap on CL

Looking to get a Wii U for my son. Mos def want the black one. Just now looking at some of the comments and it looks like a solid buy. Just kind of concerned about the topic of the security issues.

Nintendo TVii comes to the Wii U, finally
The service, which allows access via the GamePad to TV and other entertainment content, had been conspicuously absent from the Wii U's launch last month. It arrives tomorrow.

Nintendo TVii, the feature that could transform the new Wii U into a full-fledged entertainment box in the living room, is coming to the console tomorrow.

At that time, TVii will be made available in the U.S. and Canada, Nintendo announced today. The feature allows Wii U owners to access all of the programming in their home-entertainment setup, including content from their cable or satellite companies, and decide from the Wii U's GamePad what they want to watch. In addition, the GamePad can double as a remote, allowing users to control volume and change channels, among other features.

TVii was announced earlier this year as part of Nintendo's desire to turn the Wii U into more than just a gaming console. However, when the hardware launched last month, TVii was conspicuously missing. Nintendo would only say at that time that TVii would be launching in December.

TVii attempts to combine the many sources of programming into one place to make it easier for users to decide what they want to watch in a moment. With the GamePad, users can opt for a show airing live through their cable or satellite service or choose to stream a video on Amazon Instant Video or Hulu Plus. Netflix, which is available now on the Wii U, won't be integrated into the TVii feature set until early 2013, Nintendo says. TiVo users are also out of luck until 2013.

With the GamePad's help, TVii will also act as a dual-screen entertainment option. While a show is playing on the television, the GamePad will display information on the program, including cast details and critics reviews. Sports programming can be accompanied by live stats and scores, Nintendo says.

Nintendo's Wii U has gotten off to a strong start. During its first week on store shelves, the console generated 400,000 unit sales in the U.S. and at that time, was sold out in nearly all retailers nationwide. The console can be purchased in some brick-and-mortar locations now, and Amazon has the $300 Basic Set available. The $350 Deluxe set is sold out through Amazon.com.

TVii is available as a free update to the Wii U. No additional equipment is needed to get the service up and running.
