Everyone knows you need a Thunderstone to evolve a Pikachu. It doesn’t happen naturally
They’ve crossed that bridge in the anime twice that I can remember and both times when it came to nut up and do it, Ash and Pikachu both decide they don’t wanna do it and rather win without evolving
