Any advice on how I can improve my dead lift? Like increase the weight. Trying to get that joint up to 400lbs x 5 reps x 2 sets by the end of the years.

Are you bulking cutting or just maintaining weight? When I was doing my first cut I got up to 265 and stalled, each week I would add 2.5 or 5lbs to each side. It wasn't until I started bulking that I got up to 420 or so for reps. So I would say me eating a lot and lifting heavy and adding weight each week is what helped. With every life I do I always try to go up each week by 2.5 or 5lbs each side. So while it might not be a scientific answer that a bro scientist would give all I can say was eating a ton and going up in weight each week slowly is what got mine up.

True enough.. Right now I'm bulking and I am at about 315 max Deadlift right now... I'll definitely take this advice and run with it. Good look OP
 
I haven't been posting updates like everyone else and I'm also not "into" bodybuilding or training at all, but here's an update for myself so far. I posted this in both the transformation thread and the Stay/Get Back in Shape thread which I'm both subscribed to now

I guess I "officially" started in March around 230. Got dumped by my girlfriend and didn't have an appetite for a few days :lol So I lost a little weight just off that. I also just stopped eating like ****. I'm 6'1 and I've always been bigger. I would go a few days or a week or eating well and exercising, then I'd binge as a reward and fall back into old habits. If I had a dollar for every time I said "I'll start the diet on Monday" I'd be a filthy rich guy :lol Repeat this process for the last 6 years or so? But I've always been heavier, but it's been excessive the past few years. I certainly know enough.. so ignorance was never the excuse. I know about proper nutrition and fitness, I know what I should be doing, I just never stuck with it.

I just got tired of feeling bad about myself. I kept putting it off. Kept making excuses. Figured I was "fine" at my weight.. but I just got tired of it. I haven't been perfect. A cheat meal here and there.. a couple cookies here and there.. a few too many snacks, even if they're healthy ones, etc. And between work and getting sick, I haven't been able to workout everyday. But I've been serious and dedicated the past few weeks and just doing it. I'm not following any kind of "diets" or strict plans or anything like that. Lean meats, eggs, tuna, whole wheat bread, fruits and veggies (not enough vegetables though), protein shake after I workout, etc. I dropped the soda, candy, sweets, and all that **** and haven't really missed it. I've been trying to follow IFFYM as best as I can and sticking to my workouts. I've been doing P90x for the time being.. just because it takes the "planning" out of it for me :lol I can follow that idiots instructions for an hour everyday. Once I get comfortable and lose some more, I'll research and start-up my own plan and join a gym.

So I'm down to 208 as of this morning. Probably the lowest I've been in awhile. I've already had a few people at work notice and it definitely feels good. I bought a couple new shirts in a smaller size and that felt good too :lol It's definitely a work in progress, but I've noticed the results and I'm the most motivated I've been to keep at it.
 
The key is to stop lying to yourself. You are the biggest liar to yourself most of the time. If you stopped lying telling yourself "I'LL start tomorrow" then maybe you finally will. Set realistic goals. Ease into it and give it your all. But you wont be **** till you stop lying to yourself

One thing I don't like seeing is people saying "I'll start Monday" I'm like unless you're gonna be on a cruise or in a situation where you can't pick what you eat for a few days try to start now. Because even when you're in a situation when you're surrounded by junk it doesn't mean you have to binge eat
 
Went H.A.M on my cheat day yesterday, gained 12lbs. It's mostly water (glycogen) and I'll take a few huge b.m's and usually end up the same or a few down or up after the following intermittent fast day (today) but still, I was like damn 12! Usually it's about 8.
 
Completely fell off this thread but i started yesterday to be exact... Never been one to really drink many sodas of juice drinks so that's not a problem... It's just a matter of actually going to the gym that is killing me, It seems like i have a lack of energy afterwork and it's hard for me to get focused especially if i smoke.

I'm at 190 right now and this is probably the biggest i've ever been... i want to cut down by summer because i know how much i like to go out for dinners/ drinks come summertime.

i disagee, i bust then need my space, gym on my block is the perfect spot.

Im discouraged with my gains.
Im the heaviest ive ever been, put on about 6 lbs of muscle but wanting more.

been eating clean. need macros tuned

Word to the wise never have sex before planning to go to the gym lol ended up not going AND went and got some wing stop smh. Going to spend another week trying to get back to normal weight due to potential water gain, I'm not too blowed because I've been losing like 2.5 a week

unless its leg day

da hammy cramps when i give her backshots

does your girl follow the same routine as you? I was thinking about having my girl do what I do so I don't have to worry about her being somewhere else in the gym lollygagging while I`m getting it in. I of course would start her light and maybe stick to 5X5 as I work at a higher volume but we still do the same amount of lifts (about 4 lifts per body group)

lol yea typically I would do it post workout with my ex but my new girl has her own place so I spend more time at her place now than I do at mine because I have roommates

to be furreal we did p90 insanity shortcut to shred together but i hated it, having to watch her form and everything really distracted me...

she on her own program now. i been hittin it with a old roomate and feelin the push more than i ever did.

i guess it depends on ur girl

I`m not trying to be working out with my girl forever I just want her to gain functional strength so she can then tweak and create her own workouts
 
man i really wanna ramp up da cardio but da sacrifice of muscle mass

smh is the kid gonna have to increase crossfit wods???

go for it then, most females dont know even the basic muscle groups and **** .

i swear im a huge advocate for full body workouts. ESPECCIALLY for beginners
 
u should sell em and be happy ur smart enough to comeup on some 800 dollar **** that dont do much more than seperate your *** from the ground.
do it now b4 u let em sit DS and supreme is a fad of the past.
