Here's my thing
The OG trilogy has the storyline hands down but the action in the newer ones makes the older ones look really bad in the action department

But that's a given considering the time differential and resources

I'd watch them in episodic order 

The new trilogy is pretty good still regardless of what the purists say, especially Episode 3 - I don't think any of the other Star Wars movies moved me as much to be honest

The transition of Anakin into Vader and the rapid fall of the Old Order was something - I give George props for that

They need to hurry up with that Blu-Ray collection

Also #3 is a horrible movie in every way... as are most of the prequels.

yup.  I happen to really like ep. III.  It's second best after episode V, IMO

They did... the 20th anniversary editions were remastered with new stuff added into them. So if you really wanna be old school about watching them, watch ep. 4-6 in their original versions(if you can find them), then watch the remastered anniversary editions THEN watch ep.1-3. Thats how everyone watched them who were old enough to and were die hard about it.

I love both of these trilogies with all my heart. lotr gets my vote though, because wookies ruined return of the jedi for me.  though the ending of return of the king drags on. it just seems as if its hard to wrap up trilogies.

--Grew up on Star Wars and it has more moments to me than LOTR can offer. Watchin Luke blow up that Death Star on VHS when I was 6yrs old >>> watching LOTR in the theatres when I was 21 yrs old.
