NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

Finally tracked down the canned variety of GF Sculpin (at my local TJ's of all places). Canned on 4/14. Super fresh!

So a few of my friends and I have been kicking around the idea of a Craft Beer Podcast for a few weeks now and a few days ago, we finally put it all together and recorded an episode. We have a "test" episode where we just wanted to see if we could figure out the logistics of podcasting and a Premiere Ep. where we drank some of the haul of Jester King I brought back from Austin. If you have some time to kill, feel free to check it out, give me some feedback or ideas for the show. Maybe I'll throw in an NT Shoutout in the next few episodes... :Nthat

(P.S. - Sorry for the super flash picture of the bottles. I'll be sure to get a clearer picture of the artwork. Dude is piff)

Today's pickups. Bible Belt has flooded the market. Local Whole Foods has been sitting on 6 cases for the better part of two weeks.

OK-Sí just popped up this week and they apparently didn't add it to the system correctly so the girl at the register pulled a Dale's and rang it up for $1.99! If it was a local spot I would have corrected it but I give enough money to Whole Foods.

Cellar 3 is something I'm tempted to crack knowing it's already had plenty of time ageing. Closing on my first house next week. Might need to be the celebratory beer due to my wife's love of barrel aged stouts.

How accessible is hell or high watermelon 21st amendment? I saw a post a page back. Is it seasonal for the spring? Is it worth trading for? I had it once and remember a real easy semi sweet beer. My type of hot weather drink.

I've been looking for this in South Fla. Since last summer without any luck.

It's plentiful here in Cali. Had some last week matter of fact. Definitely the perfect summer brew.

Readily available in Northern CA.
Los Angeles? Not so much. Or at all I should say. They don't distribute it to LA or Orange County. Only go as far south as Ventura County.

Been wanting to try Pte as well if anyone can assist

I did a pilsner/lager blind sampling last weekend.

German Pils:
Radeberger- surprised us. nice sweetness element
Konig pilsner- par for course. not bad, not exceptionally good
Marble Pilsner- freshness was key here. noticed it right away. quite spicy/hoppy
Santa Fe Freestyle Pilsner- see above with marble.

Munich Helles Lager:
Weihenstephaner Original- highest rated beer according to BA. we noticed it right away. Crisp really smooth clean flavors.

Czech Style Pils:
pilsner urquel- par for course
Sn Summerfest (czech style pils)- smelled of skunkiness.. I thought this one was one of the true German beers that may have gotten skunked. SN fails here.

I do have a couple of beers I may sample tonight that never happened last weekend. Random TW buys.
Mother Road Lost Highway black ipa
Alaskan Summer kolsch style ale and big mountain pale ale
Ska Modus Hoperandi
BM Summer Honey Wheat
AVBC Summer Cream ale
--------------

As for race/fight stuff. I got it all lined up.

Found a 12 pack of SN Nooner Pils (12/31/14 canned date scares me but well see)
Dos Equis Lager - hot weather type of chugger
Lagunitas Sucks- keep coming back to this even though its nearly 3 months old
La Cumbre Father Nelson- gonna check this one out once again.
TW had that Alaskan Big Mountain Pale ale on sale (its technically expired).. We shall see what $5 gets me
