When did Exile get a job as a writer?

BHZ--what the heck you talkin about?

Please tell this is some sort of sick joke. Batum is Pippen. Oh god. Portland may lead the league in delusion, New York aside. How many years do we have to hear this "Portland is the future of the West and THIS is the year they make the jump."jive? Im gonna need to see them step up and make a run, just once. i know, the injuries to Ayoden and the Vanilla Gorilla set them back, but you already know that next year we are gonna hear the same thing from ESPN. I have no hate towards the Blazers, but its show me time.

First it was "Mo Williams = Scottie Pippen" and now it's "Nicolas Batum = Scottie Pippen"... who did Scottie piss off to bring this on himself?

Mike was sayin these trades are continuous rumors, but deals never happen.  For the last 3 years there have been a billion blockbuster reported deadline deals, and none of them got done.

And BHZ, I'ma need that explanation please..........

What are you talking about? You talking about Randolph being the best player in a Grizz jersey over Pau?

Why is everyone acting like its a bad idea to trade thabeet rite now the Grizz already have Marc Gasol who right now I believe = thabeet at his max potential. Marc is a legit 7 foot center and they have Z-bo who will continue to be productive for atleast the next 3 years there is no room for Thabeet to play, especially if they are making the transition to a playoff team.

It would make perfect sense for them to trade him now while he still has some potential and get maybe a future first rounder and a solid veteran to help them out now. I would trade thabeet for the kings #1 and a filler if i had the choice. If the Grizz get a mid-lottery pick and a vet offer for thabeet i say its a giant robbery on the grizz part. He isnt going to develop on this team and at max potential he's neva gonna be a franchise guy or anywhere close to it so trade em now

Just peeped this.

I guess it's more of "why did they pick Thabeet so high at #2 when they already had Gasol who plays the same position?". In Gasol's "rookie" season, he played all 82 games and showed a lot of promise, averaging about 12 and 7 at about 30 minutes a game.

And realistically, how good of a pick was it was that if you're only getting quality bench players in return for Hasheem Thabeet?

Beasley went #2 in '08
Durant went #2 in '07
Aldridge went #2 in '06

I mean, look at where those guys are now, and we're talking about ONLY bench players in return for Thabeet if a trade does go down
smh.gif

Just a terribly, terribly managed pick by Memphis if any of these rumors are real.

You can't sacrifice a project you took at #2 halfway into his first season to bolster your chances of not getting swept in the first round of the playoffs. It just doesn't make sense.

I would love Thabeet on OKC, would be the perfect fit for him as he wouldn't be expected to do much more than learn defensive rotations and be there. We're so efficient as a team defensively out there we got Nick Collison (draws the charge, doesn't contest but he's 2nd in the league at it) and Nenad Krstic out there looking like stoppers.

Out of guys who are allegedly available, I like Camby, then Thabeet, then Damp (but we'd have to include too many people to match his salary) then Haywood but I don't want to give up more than Etan Thomas's, Watson's contract, Harpring's contract. I realize there's no chance, but I'd love any of them if they could happen.

Its a damn travesty if Thabeet goes to OKC. just crown them the title in 3 years, for about 5 years straight. no way that could ever happen.

OKC doesnt even need to make any moves, they're front court isnt as weak as everyone makes it seems. They have a more phyiscal in Ibaka (sp?), and a solid guy in collison.
You'll be able to get a center like okafor for teams looking for cap relief, however players like haywood wouldnt work out unless you're giving talent.

Memphis should have took rubio at the 2nd pick, even though he may not come here, his rights are worth big $$.

What were some of the offers? chandler + our lottery pick? would actually be a solid bench instead of demare carroll
laugh.gif

Damn shame Heisley has (had?) such a hard on for Thabeet.
smh.gif

There was some speculation that Thabeet and Gasol could play together at the same time. I think it could work, but it's still two years away. Too bad DeJuan Blair is only 6'7 and has no ACLs. I would have loved to had him on this team.

THIS is the nonsense I am questioning.  Zach may go on to have the best season ever for the Grizz, but that don't make him the best player they've employed

You got to realize, we're not the Lakers.
laugh.gif
Who else could you consider to be the best player in Memphis that's just a sure thing? I respect Pau for what he's done and he took us to the playoffs 3 straight seasons, but you can argue that Zach will AT LEAST be on his way to being that guy (if not that guy right now) if he take us to the playoffs this season. If we go this season, we definitely should be a lock next season with a better bench and hopefully another PG.
laugh.gif

And there is no way in hell we letting OKC get Thabeet.
laugh.gif
Sometimes I think we took him just so they couldn't get him. They are already long as hell, he will make their starting five look like skyscrapers. If we plan on moving Thabeet, I want him to be in a package deal to acquire a PG better than Conley, preferably a veteran. This team will not go far in the West with Conley as our PG. I wish we would make a move for Brooks or Hinrich.

Pretty sure earlier in this thread we were debating between Mike Conley and Kyle Lowry. That comment up there is surprising considering your arguments for Conley. But hey, I have grown to like Conley myself.

The problem with Conley is that they never brought anybody in that was better than him. They only brought guys in that could challenge him and make him play better. Conley would be fine if he was just consistent with what he does. He's just too moody in terms of playing basketball night in and night out.

He has what I like to call "Strotential" originated from Stromile Swift.
