How the hell is this even possible?

That Dallas D is somethin special I tell ya.  Single digits 5 outta 6 games, that 6th game being a 50+

I have no effing clue...

And then Monta goes off for 9000 points last night.

I've ALWAYS hated our backcourt defense. We have been terrible for as long as I can remember. We can hold our own for the most part, but guards absolutely KILL us. You can go back a few years, I bet not one forward has scored more than 35 on us.

But we give up 40 to these midgets all the damn time.

Iguodala has been THE guy in Philly basically the past four years. If he came to Dallas, his %'s would skyrocket. Plus the ability to slash to the basket is nice, something Josh isn't too fond of anymore. He'll slash occasionaly, but easy buckets > jumpshots. Marion has thrived recently because he has been slashing to the baskets, getting easy shots.

There's a disconnect with Josh now, we have to trade him. If we DO get a deal done, Igoudala would be fantastic for this team. As a second option, he'd thrive. Richard Jefferson Part Deux if he has kid next to him. It'd be nice to have a set of young legs in Dallas.

No, the handicap to a Mavs-Sixers deal -- and this comes straight from Mavs HQ -- is that Dallas believes it will have to consider taking on Elton Brand.

Damn. That would most certainly mean getting rid of Dampier. I don't see any other way we'd take back Brand's salary, unless we dump a lot of players. Carroll Gooden and Najera wouldn't even cut it, if it would, just barely.

I've always liked Brand, but the way our team is structured right now, I just don't like it.

How would our lineups be?

Kidd, Iguodala, Marion, Dirk, Brand?

Kidd, Iguodala, Marion, Dirk, Dampier with Brand off the bench? Brand would be ineffective, and thus just become a waste.

And if we have to get rid of Damiper, then we'd get thrashed by teams like LA.

I got flamed for saying basically the same thing in the original post

Hey Celtic fans, you hear what Barkley said about your old team. They don't get healthy, they die
laugh.gif
He also said some things that mirrors comments of a certain Niketalker. I guess he's a dumb trolling Cleveland homer also

I reeeeeeeeallllly wish Charles Barkley would think about what he is going to say and stop stuttering

Can't say I blame him.

The man's been looking like he wants to take a shot at him all night.

Blazers gotta get this together. Ginobili and Parker are taking advantage of our backcourt too much.

I felt this hilarity needed to be extended to more than just the Hornets fans in our season thread:
Although X-rays were negative, Marcus Thornton missed Thursday's practice witha bruised lower back. He is listed as questionable to play tonightagainst the Philadelphia 76ers.

If Thorntoncannot play, Bower said he would use either forward James Posey orveteran shooting guard Morris Peterson handling point-guard duties whenrookie starter Darren Collison is not in the game.

That'll go over well.

Billionaire owners trying to take more money.  Fools.

I don't know, I agree with it. A majority of players are making more than they should. How many players are really living up to the money owed to them for the duration of their contracts these days?

Make no mistake, I know players are often overpaid.  But the owners aren't poor.  Not even close. These owners not only pay one millionaire, they pay 12.  And then still have millions upon millions left for themselves.

Some of these franchises are getting into the billions here pretty soon, and they want to put a cap at like 50-60 mil a year??????  There is something not right in that to me.

Hopefully they can all find a happy median, as we also see the NFL getting ready to go into money wars.
