Was Zach really that bad in NY or was it just a lack of control from the team. Because after watching the Memphis series he never seemed to be rattled and EVERYtime they needed a big basket he went into the post went to work and seemed like a perfect leader

he was a bonehead for the most part and the team was cutting salary and all types of messed up
it's hard to play on the knicks especially when he was. i think he learned alot from dealing with the crazy media and fans in NYC and it's helped him in memphis where they have pretty much adopted him.

Zach was horrendous during his first year.
2nd year, he was playing GREAT for those 10 games or whatever before he got dealt. hindsight being 20/20 maybe Donnie holds off and lets him pile up numbers and get the team some more W's and then you could have swung him for than just a salary dump.
But I can't blame him at that point for wanting to get him out of the door ASAP when he took over.
